Exactly this. The game sucks when your team starts to suck.

Do it.
I cut the cord a few years ago & have never missed it.

Probably easier as a State fan, admittedly. LOL

If ND played a real schedule, I imagine you wouldn’t spend any time on this forum. Going 6-6 or 5-7 will damper the enthusiasm a bit. Remember the Jerry Faust days?

Agreed. All these folks melting will be watching tomorrow night and next season. System has changed, get with it like everyone else.

It’s cool seeing some fresh teams in the playoffs and finals. The true death spiral was watching bama, uga and Clemson in the championship every year.

Watching is a whole lot different than investing.

Not investing has made watching CFB much better

Well I think most folks as they grow older and have kids start to prioritize other things. That’s just life no matter how football is run.

I think I’m over college football.

I still watch regularly, but dropped my season tix after the 2023 season and haven’t contributed since then.

I gradually lost interest in the NFL in the 90s when mobility between teams became common and loyalty vanished.

Same thing happening to college football right now.

College sports has absolutely nothing to do with college anymore, not even a little bit.

I don't see how it can continue.

It's a professional sports league run by universities for some reason. There are also apparently no organizational rules off the field if any kind.

So, with all the players Kirby is able to retain, you're letting a single player (and I understand what it represents) cause you to walk away?

No doubt that we all feel this way to some extent but I will still look forward to Fall Saturdays and pulling for LSU. Players come and players go as it always has been. There have been lots of one and done players in basketball. They come because they have to because of a stupid rule but they aren't committed to deal ol' alma mater U. It's just a pit stop.

Seems like it's more popular than ever now that there's parity
False perception. It's watched, because it's saturating the market. If it's a P4 program, you probably can watch every game on their schedule.
And as an entertainment option, it's competing with reality shows on networks, or 6-8 episode seasons on premium streaming options.

It's a watered down participation trophy NFL 2.0. College football died in 2020
