Average kicker may miss 2 max.

If LSU had an average QB, they score 3 TDs, min. Why do you only allow for Bama to correct their weaknesses in this what-if?

BTW...
LSU had to kick a FG from the 2 on 3rd down because they ran out of time in the 1st half.

Bama’s misses were from 52, 49, 50, 44. Hardly gimmie kicks for a college kicker. Makes were from 34, 46.

LSU’s makes were from 19, 25, 30.

Les also knew what game he was in. LSU punted from the Alabama 38, 39 and 42 in that game.

Perhaps he should have sent prayer shots towards the goal posts. But then he would have had a head case kicker in OT....

Could not agree more!

I really want LSU to win it all, you beat us this year, but hopefully we will get you next year.

I live in GA and honestly even though my whole family are Dawg fans, these fans are the worse! You would think they had national titles every other year the way they boast.

GO TIGERS! Make the SEC proud!

Bama historically isn’t good at kicking field goals.

Do you think "history" is limited to the past 10 years?

LSU is the only team I've ever seen to claim two 4* QBs were trash.

They were good QBs when they were recruited; LSU did a poor job coaching them and they regressed.

You're not going to hear much disagreement with that. That's part of the bigger story on why Miles was fired. Had he done like Coach O and looked in the mirror and said, "it's time to change..." and hire a Joe Brady - he would still be here. That was his biggest downfall, right there. It's why the story of LSU offense this year is such a wet dream, that our deficiencies on defense are very easily looked over.

Agreed

Too bad we may have to play BOTH of them to win it all.

Yes, very true, and we had the luxury of already having a finished product in Joe when he arrived here and being coached by QB and O-coordinator Ryan Day.

I respect that alot.

To be honest, whenever Bama was in the championship(other than 2011) I rooted for yall!

I rather the SEC reign champs over any other conference. We may argue and hate each others guts but it's with love.

Id be good either LSU or Georgia for the conference’s sake. Georgia would probably be even better, since they last one it in 1980.

If Georgia wins there would be 6 different National Title winning schools from the SEC in the past 20 years: Tennessee (x1), LSU (x2), Florida (x2) Bama (x5), Auburn (x1), then obviously Georgia with the one if that happened. 12 of the past 20 across six different schools is crazy.

Bama only recruits 1 star kickers? I’m not following your logic.

Thanks, me too.

But I have to ask...

WTF?

I couldn't have been the only one who felt like we got over in the 9-6 game. But, damn 21-0 was a kick in the nuts. It was as if we showed up with no offensive plans whatsoever.

Bama missed 4 field goals

Kicking is part of the game. Bama had a terrible kicker that year, not just that game. Saban had him trying at distances in the LSU game that he had virtually no chance of making based on his record of kicks from similar or even somewhat shorter distances that season before the LSU game. Trying field goals from distances with much less than even a 50% chance of making was puzzling. Bama would have had more chance going for it on 4th down, even 4th and long, than the poor guy had of making those kicks. If Bama was reduced to trying to win by kicking long field goals in that game, LSU was definitely the better team on that day.

In the rematch, LSU’s defense played a stellar game until they just gave out because they got no help from the offense (due in no small part to the Bama defense). Until the last score, Bama never got closer to the goal line than the 23 yardline. How well the defense played is overshadowed by the poor offensive performance. Bama scored only one TD in that game.
