no, he wasn't

well probably because that's something you made up

was at The Fort Worth Invitational this past weekend and talked with a former TCU player who is very close to the program. The above quote exactly mimics his description of Schloss. He apparently has no hobbies other than baseball.

Him and Cohen should get along well.

Oh, okay. I should have made that connection

I heard Butch Thompson turned us down, so we had to settle for Jim Schlossnagle.

No. Just Mississippi.

He didn't say if he had a cellphone did he?

Maybe that was a selling point for State? In Starkville Schloss will have another baseball man at the top, helping him find a support staff.
Anyway, good luck TCU
Cheers, man!
Would like to see MSU get over that final hump. He's a good coach, never had a lick of problems with him from an integrity standpoint.
Class hire.

First I've heard of that but honestly its surprising that y'all would have wasted time to even float that idea in the first place, let alone place an actual phone call

Heard this, as well. A bit robotic.
Both Mosiello and Saarloos are the nuts and bolts of the TCU program. And both were Cal State Fullerton coaches at one time.
I just can't see them following to Starkville. If we can keep those two guys, I'll be just fine. After all, Coach Schloss will need to find guys that fit that region.
The question is whether or not he'd be able to find a pair that functioned at the current level -- which will be difficult, but not impossible. But, as someone pointed out, that's baseball.
I just hope we can keep Mosiello and Saarloos. We do that, and I'll feel much better about everything.

So, is this Saarloos the former MLB pitcher with the A's and Astros? If so I had no idea he was a college coach.

His best set up was having Saarlos all these years as pitching coach
Indeed, those staffs were dominant

I'm pretty sure that was a joke. Butch was not offered the job

The one and the same.
He returned to CSUF to complete his degree after the Majors, and subsequently joined Dave Serrano's staff as a G.A.
