Post Covid coaching world is different. First question in the interview of a potential coach is "What is the NIL budget?".

True. I don’t know State’s NIL position. It may suck.

They blame Arnett. It isn't completely Arnett that they are barely in the top 50 in the composite.

I really hope you guys struggle to get it all figured out and your football team sucks for the foreseeable future.

The problem State now faces with Arnett is making the fans apathetic about football.

It is a mirror image of Ole Miss under Matt Luke

But he talked like us.

Arnett doesn’t talk like them.

This list had us 9th in the SEC at the end of last year. But we had an exciting/iconic coach.

Why would Chadwell give up a $4 mil a year job to coach at MSU?

Arnett doesn’t love Mississippi State as much as Matt Luke loves Ole Miss. Nobody does or ever will

I think he's an Oregon State alumni. Miss state can kick the wheels, but if that's true, I don't see him leaving his alma mater for Miss State. Maybe if a big program like USC or something opened up and pursued him.

would be my choice. dan mullen 2.0. i think all tom herman cares about is not having to cater to big money boosters, that's what happened at texas. runs a system that fits state and recruits well.

he's pretty much another weirdo ex-meyer oc that runs a similar offense to mullen except he doesn't neglect recruiting.

Duke is freaking loaded, they can match any offer you make on Elko, the question is does he want to go play big-boy football or is he content beating Northwestern and playing in front of the 10,000 duke alum who actually care about fb?

Because he coaches at liberty, msu can make him a higher offer than 4 million, he would be moving to the best conference in the country? Idk there's a hundred fricking reasons.

Shiiiiiii… Matt Luke looks like Pete Carroll compared to Arnett.

The shite splash roller coaster that started with Mullen leaving to meet his coaching end at Florida has crippled the MSU program.

Mullen leaves and that moron Moorhead was hired. He wasted a very good 2018 team and faceplanted out in 19 when the lost the team. He was the epitome of a good candidate on paper.. but major flop in practice.

Then Leach comes in and completely revamps the offense. All well and good… except he dies when he gets it installed. He basically locked the team into the air raid then the keys disappeared with him.

Oh yea… our AD and some other AD office people leave somewhat unexpectedly prior to Leach’s death. So we have no leadership in the AD’s office to scramble up a plan and respond.

Then among other issues.. we then had to keep other shithead coaches from taking advantage of a tragedy and poaching the team dry and try to keep the rest of the class together. So we had to hire Arnett on the double quick. Annnd the president of the university, who knows dick about football coaching, gives him the official title of head coach and not interim.

So then Arnett tries to install an offense the team hasn’t been built to run…. By people not experts on the offense themselves. And oh yea, the defense sucks now too because the DC hire was shite also.

And now… among being incompetent… the guy cannot recruit a yellow jacket into to a coke can.

So MSU has had to eat a crap sandwich that was partially due to past AD incompetence but mostly due to shitty circumstances.

Oh yea.. we now have a new unproven AD that has to make the hire of all hires to keep the program from falling apart completely both from fan apathy and player exits due to losing a beloved coach and hiring a dipshit to replace him.

Oh yea again… we lose a large number of players after this season to graduation and running out of eligibility.. just in time for the new conference schedule next season. So the new coach is going to have to work the portal like a madman to have a shred of competitiveness next year.

At least the stadium is still standing.. at least till tornado season next spring or some other freak thing.

I think we have to find an offensive guy. i dont trust defensive coaches to get an offense going at a place like MSU.

a short list is easy to start...start with a coach making less money, doing more with less talent and putting up points and you got a great starting point. we CANNOT afford to screw this up.

MSU could potentially be scary if they got Elko.

I have confidence that my Ags will find a new way to blow a game in Starkville.

Oof.
