I had a blast at the Florida game Saturday, just like I have at every Ole Miss home game. I am so appreciative of everything Lane has done for us. If he feels another school would be better for him and his family, I support that.

lol if he quits on this season he can go frick himself

Where was Tech before he took the job? They are in the playoffs now & he's done a great job building that program and he's beating people's asses he's also 2-1 in bowl games including beating Ole Miss

Yes, we knew the risk when we hired him. He has done a great job for us but at this point in time, he needs to GTFO. I could care less that he wants to be someone else but the way he has handled it is beyond unprofessional. He is a drama queen/attention whore.

Do you know why Tech is suddenly very good? It's not their coach. He's a good coach. Check their transfer portal class though. Unless the oil billionaire that's funding TTU sports also decides to transfer to Ole Miss, Maguire will not replicate what he's done at TTU.

Maybe so, but Drink's not torpedoing a legit shot at a natty just to jetset the SE. My point is, OM fans have a right to be pissed, just like coonasses have a right to be stupid.

Drink isn't the back-up. Ole Miss knows who it wants to replace Lane with if it has to but that coach has another solid offer on the table which is another issue with the timeline. We can't let Lane go into December without giving us an answer and miss out on who we want to replace him.

I just spit out my coffee. Most accurate description of Lane Kiffin I've seen. I do hope LSU gets him, but drama will definitely follow him whereever he goes.

Thanks for the laugh.

Probably moreso. The buyouts alone is a HUGE transfer of wealth to a very few individuals.

I wonder what the first LSU@OM game atmosphere would be like. The mustard bottle / golf ball game was well removed time wise @Tennessee. That will be next year.

It's business. You can't blame a coach for taking care of himself.

Dude, it's not him leaving. It's not even where he may be going. It's HOW and WHEN he is leaving.

Dude is probably going to abandon a playoff team to go somewhere else and hope to achieve the same thing.

Emotional investment is what makes a person a fan. This is the kind of shite that erodes at it.

Sometimes I wonder what the players/coaches in the early days of college football would think of all this......

Orgeron will be available clean into February.

I do know who they are talking about and it's not Orgeron. One outcome is that Ole Miss has come out of this smelling like a rose from a PR standpoint. The national narrative is that whatever Kiffin asked for we said yes. The fans said yes, the donors said yes, and the administration said yes. We are a sexy job at the moment and we can even offer someone a shot at a ring this season while Kiffin beats off on a couch watching on TV from Baton Rouge or Gainesville. Still, I hope he stays.

He's a fricking moron.
