re: SEC Roll Call pretty good this week

"We're so glad we paid Jimbo the GDP of Argentina"

:rotflmao:
Boulder LSU alum here. Stoney's is half LSU and half OU. It's big and loud with mediocre food, but can be a fun party, especially for Bama game. An alternative is NOLA Voodoo in RiNo part of Denver. It's a small Tavern, run by a guy with NO roots (last name Baptiste). It has great creole food and will have LSU game on Saturday and Saints on Sunday.

So, I choose to cheer and want them to win/compete. If they do lose then I just move on until next time. It's just sports.

What drugs are you taking, and where can I get them? I try to say, "it's just sports", but try as I might, I still yell/cuss at the TV, and every loss feels like a dagger in the heart.

Oh, and LSU MechE '86 :geauxtigers:

I did that. The info listed is 17 hours old. Is that still accurate? Are people allowed to bet on Sundays? I don't know how this works.
Since yesterday's chaos, would be interesting to see if there has been any change. The latest update I can find via Google is 17 hours ago, and JD5 was listed as "overwhelming favorite" at -1400.
It's one thing to lose to the gumps (I became numb to that in the 8 years prior to 2019). It's totally different losing to those inbred thugs when they take out our QB in the process. It reminded me of the shot Todd Bertuzzi took on Steve Moore thereby ending his NHL career and causing him a lifetime of pain. Sunday was a hard day. I still can't stop thinking about that hit and the possible repercussions on that young man's life.

I don't know if I can take it if we lose to UF this weekend, AND if Jayden gets another big hit. I'm hoping they rest Jayden and get Nuss ready to play for the next two games.

The game I REALLY want us to win is against "Jimbo and his merry band of aggies". I'm hoping Jayden and the team are dialed in and ready for that one.

Might want to hold off on this sentiment until next week.
You forgot Grambling @ LSU - Maybe LSU can eek out a victory?

Ok, I just found it on page 3 of TR. Please delete this thread.

Didn't see this posted, so sorry if it's on a back page already. This made me laugh.

Wrong house. Tudors went out of power in 1600s. Current royal family is Windsor.

What can CU offer that we can’t far exceed?
Mountains

As a Boulder "local" (moved here from BR 30+ years ago), here are the pros:

Mountains, gorgeous weather 11 months per year, low humidity, 300+ days/yr sunshine, small town feel (no bad traffic unless you go into Denver), access to world class snow sports, fishing, brew pubs and MJ dispensaries aplenty, some racism but not nearly what you have in La.

The cons:

1 month/year bitter cold and snowy/slushy, lots of entitled Karen's here, and the ocean is 1000 miles away; the only passionate college football fans here are NOT CU fans -- lots of B10 and P12 here.
I was a freshman at LSU and was in student section. That's when student section was almost 25% of the lower bowl. I was close to the field and got pelted with oranges. I remember being cold and sticky leaving the stadium.

The original "sneaker-net". I had a student job delivering mail between CEBA (Engineering) and the Chancellor's office from 1982 - 86. There were no computers/network/email. The summers were the worst (heat), but I got paid $3-5/hour. There was a dairy somewhere on campus that had soft-serve ice cream; that was a must-stop on 98-deg days.

Regarding the stadium dorms, my dad lived there 1940ish. Said they had to leave campus on the home game weekends.

re: LSU plaid material

I googled "tartan plaid purple" and came up with Clan by Scotweb, and the following link:

Purple Tartan Designs

There are pages of different purple tartans to choose from. Good hunting, and come back to TD with pics of the finished product!

re: LSU at UF - What are we thinking?

Posted by BoCoTiger on 10/11/22 at 4:58 pm
I just have this feeling it will be like the Auburn-Mizzou game. Both teams refusing to win and a stupid mistake in the final seconds to give the other team the W.

This is the first time in a long time that I don't truly hate UF. Without Mullen or Butter-teeth, it's hard to dislike them. Heck, I even like Napier and will pull for him to do well. Just maybe not this game.

Anyway, here's to an entertaining Saturday evening!
