Georgia Tech isn't much comp instate either in recruiting. That is a big help.

The South Carolina collapse isn't a collapse. With a HOF coach we're a good program. With a good coach we're an average program. With a mediocre coach we're a bad program. It is what it is, love them anyway.

The SEC isn't where you should get your feet wet as a HC. Look at Odom, took him 3 years to figure out when to punt.
You're right. And the crazy thing is that all but four of the SEC coaches are currently at their first head coaching job. Only Mullen, Muschamp, Coach O and Saban had previous HC experience at a Division 1 school before being at their current job. And Muschamp and Coach O failed at their previous jobs. When you look at the SEC during their glory years in the late 2000s and early 2010s, most of the top head coaches had HC success at other stops before taking their jobs. Spurrier, Meyer, Tuberville, Les Miles, Petrino, Gary Pinkel and of course Saban were all experienced, seasoned head coaches. Not surprisingly, the coaching in the SEC back then was a lot more better than it is now.

South Carolina is the least bad of the 3. They haven't lost to teams like SJSU and Georgia State.

Nope. Our OL and DL got their shite pushed in by San Jose State. We're pathetic.
This is what I don’t understand. There is no way in this world Arkansas has worse players than San Jose State. After watching some of the game I was convinced that the two teams had switched uniforms. What really gets me is after watching their comeback win last weekend, I thought for sure they had turned the corner and would at least play to that 4th quarter level in their remaining games. But no, they reverted back to square one on opening day. That’s coaching.
What is funny is this team will get fired up for a game they have no business being in and will scare or upset someone in the SEC.

What don’t you get? Their coaching and player talent are inferior plain and simple.

Something tells me Arkansas will inexplicably take A&M to the wire.

We have a young, hard working, coach now. If Gamecock fans will calm down he'll do fine. He's a solid recruiter. He just needs time.
Completely agree, and I'm glad UofSC has bigshots like you with a cooler head, leading the charge to give Boom another extension.
Make a big donation to the cause before USC or Florida come sniffing around and try to steal him.

Actually, Butch Jones was a very solid recruiter and left plenty of talent for Pruitt. Talent isn't the problem. Pruitt just sucks at coaching, even more than Jones.

The hiring of Richt was the beginning of the end for UT football.
Before Richt UT recruited elite 5* kids nationwide but got a ton of good/great 4* talent on a consistent basis from Ga. to flesh out their rosters.
Richt and his staff stemmed the tide of Ga. kids going to Knoxville except for a few notable exceptions (the Berry family and DaRick).
Kirby has come in and turned that up a notch by not only keeping Ga.'s best from Knoxville but also taking the top players(along with Clemson) from the state of Tenn.(Cade Mayes and others)...
