It doesn’t really matter to me. I have no desire to kick any team out of the SEC.

I just enjoy watching football.

Making the sweet sixteen is your Super Bowl. Sad.

The Tysons and Hunts pour money into basketball.

The Waltons own the Denver Broncos.

Arkansas fans make up for any shortcomings in athletics. I would gladly welcome them B1G conference.

Petrino had two really good seasons. All indications when looking at how he was recruiting he was going to fall back to pretty much where they are now. Arkansas was good until the joined the SEC. They built that reputation on a very weak schedule. Usually lost their bowl game when they played a decent team. We will have ask Texas if they are a rival. Not sure Arkansas ever beat Texas enough to be a real rival.

No, Petrino would have kept them competitive. He's proven himself.

Long was the problem then. Yurachek is the problem now, although he's not at the same low level of Long.

So you’re telling me you only watch football without saying it.

Providing a flagship university that has a winning tradition in all three major sports is the value of Arkansas athletics. The conference's geographic center is Memphis at this point. Arkansas is in the middle of the SEC. Even football is valuable at the moment because it provides wins for the conference's upper-echelon.

Debatable. You’re a great baseball program that would be elite if you could ever win a national title. You’re a good basketball school. Not great. Not elite.

You’re a historically average football program. Yes, I understand pre 1990 you were a top 25 historical program but that was a while ago. Your best years were 40+ years ago.

Your program averages about 6.5 wins the last 30 years, You’ve had three 10 win seasons in the last 35 years, and you’re arguably one of the worst teams from a power conference in the last 15 years. The only team with a worst record than Arkansas in this conference in the last 15 years is Vandy and they haven’t lost to nearly as many G5 schools like Arkansas has In that time frame.

We don't really think about them other than to laugh at all the ways we managed to beat them.

I bet they laugh at the concept they haven’t been relevant in 25 years yet have 3x the amount of championships as powerhouse Texas does in the last 3 decades.

You'd need to ask a Nebraska fan. They don't seem to laugh a lot when the subject of Texas comes up. It spills into other sports, too. I realize people on this board don't think a whole lot about volleyball, but Nebraska fans do. They set a world record for attendance for a women's sporting event by selling out their football stadium for a volleyball match. They cannot stand Texas in that sport, either.

Like you, I don't think there's a whole lot of respect there. Texas is viewed as a lot of blowhards who haven't accomplished anything but act like they have, and ruined the Nebraska program when they entered the Big 12 and threw their weight around. And they're still crying about losing the Big 12 championship in 2009 because of a rigged call.

At this point, the heyday of the 90s is a distant memory, if it's even a memory at all for fans under 40.

But I always liked Nebraska and their fans. Still do.

Nope

In the four years after Petrino was fired we had 17 players drafted, at least 4 each season

Since 2017 we had more than 2 drafted only once

Talent started falling off in Bielema's later years, not Petrino's.

Arkansas’ overall sports program is a way better than UGA’s.

To be fair that's just not true. Looking at the directors cup standings over the last decade Georgia is slightly better than Arkansas but both are very good.

This whole topic of Arkansas being shite is ignorant though.

WTF has Missouri brought to any conference?

Football program is just ok but every other sport at Mizzou is pure trash.

Arkansas has the ability to become the sleeper upset game that MSU used to be. However, they don't have the will to do so.

Fortunately, the other SEC Presidents and the Commissioner have far more sense than the OP.
