You’re right. We did luck into the championship game that year. We got lucky as shite to be part of the craziest year in college football history.

My question remains, how many times has Alabama lucked out?

Since the rant loves links so much, can you provide one were it clearly states the selection process was a popularity or luck contest and not based on body of work?

No, those 2 are about the only times.
Like the old saying, to win a championship you gotta have some luck.

One would think that if they weren't good enough to EARN the spot and just lucked in, Bama would be less than 50% in those games. Yet Bama in batting 1000 in those games they "lucked" into.

What? The year before last was 2021, and Alabama beat Georgia in the SEC Championship. UGA still got into the playoffs and won the rematch.

I see a lot of responses stating Alabama capitalized and won those specific championship games.

That’s not the debate. You’re totally missing the point. Alabama is usually a fricking monster of a team that nobody wants to play. Of course they’re going to capitalize when they get the chance.

My point is, who else besides Alabama gets treated the way they do? They get the nod to replay those games they shouldn’t because they are Alabama. I’m sure there are other teams that could capitalize if given the same chance.

But once again, because they are named Alabama, they get the automatic nod. Entitled. Little. Brats.

I’m out.

Are you actually just “lucky” if you end up winning it all?!?

Yes yes. Imagine knowing your bitterest foe is using luck.

Then you'll never think there's any point to it all, and you'll... just quit.

Yes, Alabama. All luck, I tell ya!

2012 doesn’t count, refs gave the game of the century away to LSU. Getting in was just correcting a grave injustice.

Lucky to get in this year for sure.

This is the big one if you're trying to look at "luck". Took a plane falling out of the sky to get Bama back in it.

Speaking of luck, has anyone heard from Booger Mc. since selection day? He seemed to be taking the committee’s choice of Bama hard. Did ESPN really have to put him in the Nervous Hospital?

Off the top of my head, UGA, TCU and OSU have all “lucked out” by getting in without winning their conference.

Not sure why you are laughing at their quarterback getting hurt but it was also because they played a weak schedule where LSU was their best win. I like to think Ole Miss had a hand in this by further weakening an already weak LSU.

Yeah Bama did:

A) Not make it in with two losses.

B) Was good enough each time to have one loss at the most which doesn’t sound like luck to me, it sounds like a damned good team each year they made it in and most times they win the title as well.

2011 - Iowa State beat Oklahoma for us.

2012 - Stanford beat Oregon for us and Ohio State was on probation

2015 - We didn't luck into the playoffs but we did luck into the SEC Championship when Ole Miss lost to Arkansas because of 4th and 26.

2017 - 2 Loss Ohio State beat undefeated Wisconsin in the B1G Championship. For those outraged about undefeated teams ranking behind 1 loss teams that Wisconsin team entered the week behind a 2 loss Auburn.

2023 - Jordan Travis got hurt.

Part of the game. As it has been said you guys were lucky to get in a crazy year where everybody had 2 losses. You were also lucky to play Oklahoma instead of USC in 2003 as well because the BCS put a team that just lost the last game 35-7 into the championship. Still think LSU beats USC but USC was a much better team than OU.

No. We didn't luck into anything. We proved ON THE FIELD we were the best team in CFB.
