Manziel is special. When he graduates I think Sumlin is done. Meyer was lost after Tebow left. Same thing with Auburn without Cam. To pull those offenses off you can't have a good QB. You need an incredible one.

Well one point to consider is Johnny FB is a very unique QB that has added a new dimension to that air raid offense. If Sumlin had some of the QBs he's had at UH they wouldn't be near as effective. I mean they would still put up good numbers, but it's hard to prepare for a guy that can beat you with his arms and his feet in that particular offense.

Johnny FB just puts them on another level. Period.

You look at how we play, and you have to be impressed with how versatile it is.

We do a little bit of everything. It's certainly not the air raid as we run the ball as much as anyone in the league. We can dink and dunk and then go vertical and break the top off the defense. We can go power run (Matthews and Luke lined up next to each other) and then the next play its a quick screen or a comeback to Evans.

The point Im making is that we do not have a 'style' per se. We adjust to what the defense gives us. You make a move, then we do the same. There will always be mismatches to exploit, and I don't see the SEC preventing that from happening. The fact that we have Manziel just makes it all the more apparent.

So there is some confusion about how long it took LSU to figure it out. Can some more LSU people post "1 quarter?"

Have to get pressure on the QB, preferably with your front 4. Also speedy DEs help due to the fact ATM likes trying deeper passes. UA's problem was lack of pressure on QB and their DBs haven't had to defend deeper passes much, plus the pace.

UA has focused mostly on strength and less on conditioning, which works great against power running teams, less when the team is a fast paced team and can get first downs to keep the offense on the field.

The big difference is LSU only allowed him 27 yards rushing. bammer allowed 92.

A&M is going to be a SEC title contender for the next few years boys and girls, like it or not. Probably national championship contender as well, (I hope).

For you to say that you figured it out in 1 quarter is comparable to people saying we would get curb stomped in the SEC, based on our past history. They refused to take into account the new coach, new QB, new system, etc.

LSU and Florida made adjustments against an inexperienced team - A&M made adjustments to account for Alabama's similar adjustments, with obvious positive results. If A&M played LSU or Florida today, they would have the same result Alabama experienced yesterday. No disrespect intended to any of the above teams - they are all very good, but the dynamics are changing.

bullshite. Bama doesn't have the defensive speed that LSU and Florida have

Also LSUs offense is clicking now so LSU would move the ball more than they did early in the season

Next few years?

You realize JFF is a redshirt freshman and eligible for the draft after next season?

Not sure what Bama was thinking. UF stopped them, LSU stopped them.

LSU definitely laid the blueprint to contain Manziel after the 1st quarter but Bama just kept playing what they normally do. A 3-4 defense though probably isn't the way to go vs. aTm.

Well we gave up more to Towson. If it wasn't for a garbage TD we give up 12 pts.
