I think you are thinking about in context of the Big 10 where the pinnacle is the Rose Bowl. Thats what everyone shoots for up there.
Since the SEC championship game as all but become a BCS play in game the hope for LSU, GA, AL etc is to win that game and play in the BCS.

Yeah, I think both is the best answer.
UT was very well prepared. Two of the three forth down conversions in the 4th quarter were very well scripted. Butch/et al. really had the team prepared. The blocked punt was also a result of something they saw. (Don't give too much credit there tho...
