re: If Auburn is a great job

Zero due diligence.

Auburn is a good program but it faces the toughest schedule in the nation as UGA and Bama are committed to winning whatever the cost.

That said Auburn has a strong base, good history and national exposure and strong booster base as well. The NIL program is very strong as well.
That is part of it I'm sure. With UL facing major sanctions and Pearl's history with the NCAA it does make things challenging. That said he's happy at AU and unless something drastic changes I don't see him leaving.

I can’t Imagine him leaving Auburn for the dumpster fire of both the University and City of Louisville.

He's not. If Auburn screwed this up badly I mean sure anything is possible but he's not leaving Auburn for UL. He's happy with his current setup and all of the major boosters for BBall support him and let those in the AD know we need to keep him. There's been a push to go ahead and lock him down and this may accelerate those talks anyway.

UGA is funding a very expensive team right now under Kirby. They want to win a national title at any cost and that's what they're doing right now. I think this is UGA's year. They are playing lights out on defense and they are arguably the most talented team in college football.
Talent is the major issue. People are just now realizing how poorly Gus recruited the last 2-3 years. He stopped trying to win recruiting battles on OL,DL and LB positions. He went after skill players.

This rebuilding job is going to be very similar to what Tubs experienced when he came to Auburn. In the past the talent was there but the coaching and team play was poor. Now he's having to fix all aspects of the team including talent.

Franklin is a bitter old man who couldn't handle the stress at the Power 5 level. He's lucky several Auburn players and former staff have a higher standard. If what he said/did was known publicly his career would have been over instead of just a black eye.

New shite has come to light.

Most programs are smart enough to stop "helping" recruits when the NCAA is on their campus some are not.
quote:

This is over the top. I couldn't tell if Cam thought the ball was going to bounce funny and he was trying to position himself to get the ball or he actually avoided diving because He thought He would get hit. Only Cam knows why He didn't dive asap. He did end up on the ground after the ball.

A lot of people speculating and piling on. That's just this Bama grads opinion.

No telling what was going through his mind. For Greg or anyone to say Cam avoids taking hits is beyond assinine. How many Linebackers has Greg or others ran over for a TD. Cam was the Panther's running game, without him it was very average. Cam isn't the be all end all and he has a lot of maturing to do but no one can claim he isn't a competitor, that's his problem he hates losing.

Auburn never got a NOA because they couldn't find enough proof.

Considering the colonoscopy Auburn got I'm shocked they didn't find Trooper and/or Luper with an extra Iphone or two or something. Ole Miss' problem is that multiple teams have turned them in over several years, this isn't something new. Most teams are smart enough to stop buying players when the NCAA comes to town.

ACT score changes and improper benefits to recruits will do that to you.

I heard Mizzou reported them for the Royce Newman recruitment. They got to his coach, and he steered Newman to Ole Miss.

The NCAA has had dirt on their recruitment of Treadwell before he ever played a down at OM. Okylite turned them in and had statements from an uncle about payments and job offerings. Tunsil is another that is well documented.

t's all Roof, Gus worked with him in the past. I would really like the Diaz hire

I suspect you're right no inside info just a suspicion. Gus wants to be comfortable with the new DC and get to know them. His coaching tree is very small.

Does anyone really think this lazy POS will make it in the league? Nothing he has done points to him succeeding on that level. He needs to get his degree.

He has the talent to make an NFL roster, but he has the brains to work at burger king. Not meaning he's dumb just makes dumb life decisions and in general a team cancer. He's not talented enough to overcome team cancer rep.
Should've last year as well but Gus kept trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

re: Auburn Capital Campaign

Alumni donations help temendously in college rankings.

This campaign is awesome and has been in the works for years.
While I think they are correct the NFL hasn't been one for innovation on the offensive side of the ball for quite a while.

I've never heard an athlete choosing a school because of their endowment . People bragging about endowment probably only donate $100 a year. Some probably don't donate anything, but they brag about having a high endowment.

It is something SEC programs as a whole need to focus on heavily. There is a coming education bubble that will pop and it will be interesting to see how many programs handle it.

Auburn finally got its head out of its backside and started to work on its endowment. Also endowments help when building, it gets you cheaper financing or allows you to finance more thus using existing money that was raised in other areas.

We love to talk about sports but a university's ultimate goal is to educate people for the workforce.
Auburn's is around 610 early last year. This new fund raising campaign will put it right at the 1bn mark. When split out alabama and Auburn's is neck and neck. Sadly both have ho ered just above the Mississippi programs. Not meaning anything bad about that just there's no reason for it to be as low as it is.
This is actual money in the bank not stocks in oil.
