It seems like every time this cycle comes back around, Ole Miss and their symbolism are under attack. Has anyone heard or seen anything yet?
Btw, I’m all for keeping Colonel Reb & the band playing Dixie. It’s TRADITION.

The moment they get rid of the name Ole Miss, the university will lose more than it can stand in donations

See my thread.
Colonel Reb had been killed. The flag of traitors has been burned. The only thing left is their name, but I doubt people call that out with so much other stuff going on - like police brutality and institutionalized racism.

Oxford natives have been protesting and recent alumni have been slamming the administration for “not doing enough.” Trust me, Ole Miss is indeed being attacked.

The song Dixie is not the issue. It was the jackass students saying "the south will rise again" that was the problem

Ole Miss is pretty much a Sun Belt school at this point. They aren’t good in anything and are largely irrelevant

Hey, I'm just beginning to wonder if sports will ever be talked about again, the way we used to do it.

F*ck tradition
But by far the more important reason for the readjustment of the past is the need to safeguard the infallibility of the Party. It is not merely that speeches, statistics, and records of every kind must be constantly brought up to date in order to show that the predictions of the Party were in all cases right. It is also that no change in doctrine or in political alignment can ever be admitted. For to change one’s mind, or even one’s policy, is a confession of weakness. If, for example, Eurasia or Eastasia (whichever it may be) is the enemy today, then that country must always have been the enemy. And if the facts say otherwise then the facts must be altered. Thus history is continuously rewritten.

This is not intended as a shot, but if Ole Miss was relevant on the college football landscape, it’d be a major issue. If Kiffin brings them out of irrelevance, it’ll be an issue for sure.

Yeah that's just fricking stupid. I get displaying the history of the state, but come on.

They're after Trump and the traditional American way of life. Racism (Ole Miss) has nothing to do with this.

If your fans and alum are that fixated on an out of date and racially divisive term then you guys have bigger problems. You guys are holding on to something that no one is impressed with other than you clucks in your khakis, loafers, and lame polos.
