Venables said it’s his most talented defense ever. That includes Clemson and OU defenses.

Looking at our starting lineup on D, especially with Prince and Dottery on board now. We are looking good

Hard to say how good we will be, but very easy to predict that we will be better. We were 16th and 15th in the league in Lebby's first 2 seasons. Arnett has had solid defenses everywhere he has been, so I am hopeful that we will be competitive if the offense can maintain or improve their performance.

For State, 2024 & 2025 we were awful. With Zach Arnett back as the DC and the talent being better, I look for us to be much improved defensively.
Now, how that will translate into more W’s, I have no idea.
We could be a much improved team with a similar record.
Hopefully, on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage we will be competent again.

It'll help that our offense won't be going 3 and out every series, so the defense gets a chance to catch its breath occasionally. The last year they were just on the field the entire game.

Let’s see how Oklahoma did in those two games you referenced.
Oklahoma allowed Tennessee’s offense 26 first downs and 456 yards. Oklahoma’s offense managed 19 first downs and 351 yards.
Oklahoma allowed Alabama’s offense 23 first downs and 406 yards. Oklahoma’s offense managed 12 first downs and 212 yards.
Combined, Oklahoma’s defense allowed 862 yards. Oklahoma’s offense gained 563 yards.

This is the fewest question marks that a Georgia defense has had heading into a season since 2021. Definitely looking like a vintage Kirby Smart defense. We're fricking stout! Only thing that could frick up a plan is an injury to one of our starting cornerbacks. We're thin at cornerback.

Our D will all hinge on the health of the CBs. We have good starters but the quality depth is not there. I wouldn’t mind grabbing a 5 for 5 guy for some depth.
