How does the rest of the SEC feel about Sankey acting in direct defiance of NCAA rules?

Sankey issued statement that the SEC will allow players who participated in NFL minicamps. The NCAA says those players are ineligible.
What kind of sanctions is Sankey facing?
Note: This thread does not address Sankey allowing Chambliss (also ruled ineligible by the NCAA) to participate.

I think we are all in favor of anything that makes LSU fans mad

Sankey is doing what his bosses tell him to do. He's no different than the NFL commissioner being paid to take heat for the owners.

That's a fair point. Should the entire conference be sanctioned?

It seems like Sankey has a lack of institutional control

Any player the NCAA rules ineligible is ineligible per SEC Bylaw 14.01.01.
It's interesting that the SEC is trying to use this vs Kiffin in their filings, but turning a blind eye to everyone else.

For Ole Miss. y’all have been yipping from under the bed like a beat chihuahua for 10 mos now.
Not sure your logic applies to anyone else.

If not, could that not be used by Harris and Wright in their lawsuit regarding selective enforcement?

I doubt they do, they don't seem interested enforcing it vs any of the other 5 for 5 players that didn't sign pro contracts. Nor anyone else playing under a TRO or injunction of any kind.

I don't know the legalities of that honestly.

its crazy how mad you guys are that you cant play people who declared for the draft and signed undrafted free agent contracts. stop calling them kids, they are adults, they signed contracts with nfl teams, they were pros who didnt make it. just take the L.

All of you arguing for that are rejecting historical norms in order to benefit from a gray area that has never been addressed.
Prior to this year or last year, no player who ever entered the NFL draft, either through declaration or automatically secondary to reaching end of eligibility, has returned to play college football.
Every player who has ever entered the draft lost the ability to return, drafted and undrafted.

LSU voted in favor of the rule that defined unsigned minicamp attendees as still being amateur. If the SEC is punished for it LSU will be included.

No fan of any SEC school should support Sankey. He is a nerd with power… who abuses it because he can.

That WILL be used by the lawyer for Harris and Wright against the SEC.

This is not what anyone at LSU is mad about. We’re mad at the disingenuous hypocrisy.
Now, I do think the class of 2022 specifically has a legit case (federal court already implied as much in its initial ruling against the NCAA).
But that’s not why we are loud today.
We’re loud today because this was a transparent attempt to railroad us… LSU remains one of the only schools in the conference without one of these minicamp dudes rostered on a TRO.
Couldn’t make this shite up

This is one of the core issues. Is the SEC an extension of the NCAA or not. And if they are, can they have rules that conflict with the NCAA.

Do they though? Here's the NCAA rule...
14.4.8 Involvement With Professional Teams.
14.4.8.1 Tryouts.
14.4.8.1.1 Tryout After Enrollment. A student-athlete may try out with a professional athletics team (or participate in a combine including that team) in a sport or permit a professional athletics team to conduct medical examinations at any time. A student-athlete may receive actual and necessary expenses related to the tryout from a professional sports organization or the national governing body. (Revised: 1/8/07 effective 8/1/07, 4/28/09, 1/21/17, 4/16/24) 14.4.8.1.2
