Can we stop saying "opt out"? Those players quit the team. Unless the player had some respiratory condition and it was best for them to not be around large groups of people while this virus was going around, they quit.

This. LSU had one player opt out and he opted back in. They had two declare for the draft and quit.

"We gonna beat their arse in recruiting We gonna beat their arse every time they see us. ROLL TIDE WHAT... F**K YOU”

Eddie O

Hope he repeats that the week of the Bama game and that Saban puts it up in front of each players locker..

Only thing is, our basketball and football teams are not the ones facing serious allegations right now for paying recruits, players and dads.

Smith is the only one that really surprised me. He had nothing left to prove

The real question is why does LSU have so many players opt out/leave early compared to other teams

Live in a trash dump like Louisiana... or not living in a trash dump like Louisiana.

Seems like a no-brainer (pun intended) to me.

I’d really like to know the answer to both these questions.

Smith and Waddle would have both been drafted, but man it was a deep WR draft...I'm sure both believe they'll be 1st rounders by coming back. Leatherwood probably the same thought process...

This is a lot of it. Offseason is long, hot, and it generally sucks there.

You won’t like this answer but the types of guys that last three years at Alabama aren’t the type of guys that are looking to opt out. They want to compete.

No it's not and most people I know from other states like it here (aside from the heat)

Bama lost 4 Juniors in the 1st 15 picks.

Tua#5
Wills #10
Ruggs #12
Juedy. #15

Xavier Mckinney went #36

Terrell Lewis and Raekwon were RsJrs and had another year of eligibility.

2016 was the year Bama got a lot of guys to come back .

Jonathan Allen
Eddie Jackson
Reuben Foster
Tim Williams
Ryan Anderson

Thats really the only year there wasn't mass exodus .

2011 was when they hit the reload vs rebuild stage. Having the steady hand at QB with McCarron helped some I'd assume
