How did Georgia get such a favorable schedule this year?

No disrespect to the Bulldogs because I have great respect for their program but how were they able to avoid playing the top teams in the league this year. They don’t play anyone but Alabama, No LSU, Texas, Tennessee, or A&M. Their non conference is also a joke.

To be fair, when the schedule came out Lane Kiffin was still the coach at Ole Miss, so that was still supposed to be a respectable game. It won't be anymore, but that's not UGA's fault.

One could also say the schedule is favorable for all the teams that are not playing UGA.

The schedule keeps getting better and better too. Last weekend we learned that Oklahoma has a high school offensive line and Arkansas is nice enough to let you know what kind of play they are running.
Georgia leaves the state 3 times in the regular season. Including the SECCG and playoffs, Georgia could play 11 games this season within an 80 mile radius of the practice facility.

I beg to differ. The last two were tough but they benefited from playing in the weaker east for years.

Texas is not a difficult game for UGA.
A&M is not a difficult game for any halfway decent team.

The west churned through coaches much faster than the East.
Yes, there were seasons where the West was significantly better. But this is way overplayed. As a division, they were more equal than different.
For all of those bitching about the conference schedule, are you for or against 9 conference game schedules? This is what you wanted.
The conference as a whole is average (by the literal definition of average). 9 conference games is more average than 8 conference games. And you are going to cycle through years of tougher than average schedules and less than average schedules.

Why do we always catch this scheduling shade?
For the last 2 years we had Bama, TX and OL Miss on the rotation plus the usual east opponents. Opened with Clemson in 2024.
It’s not our fault the east sucks. A 9 game SEC schedule plus hopefully the SECCG will be more than enough.

The regular season is pointless going forward.
Don't lose games and you are in the 12 team playoff.
It doesn't matter how good you are in September.
Win in December and January is all that matters.
This is what college football has become. Blame the voters. Blame the money. Blame the fans.

I am an old man but having an easy schedule for a violent, physical game is a blessing and a curse. A football team needs to have its nose bloodied every once in a while to compete at a high level....in my opinion. UGA hasn't had that yet and is unlikely to get it this week. I think Oklahoma may be able to do it. I am not talking about a loss but getting your arse kicked in a win is far better than beating WKU by 50 points.
That said UGA has played just about everyone with a UGA Jersey on in the last 2 games....that is a good thing in the future. It is time for UGA to get punched in the mouth though....and its unlikely Arkansas has the ability to do so. I truly think this is how the SEC was so dominant in the past....after playing a SEC slate where first and second round draft picks litter the landscape playing a BIG10 team wasn't shocking to anyone.
