So how many coaches has Ole Miss fired for violating the rules?

They found a problem, and eliminated it.

Was it Tarkanian who said when Kentucky cheats the NCAA sanctions Western Kentucky?

I don't know, but it was a pretty common sentiment back in the day that every time Bear Bryant cheats, Auburn goes on probation. Judging from Auburn's history with the NCAA, Bear must have been cheating quite a bit.

Well the damage is limited - because apparently the kid he broke violations for didn't end up at Alabama

So..........

We did the same thing with that WR coach that paid for Akiem Hicks' hotel room.

You can't be over every coach's shoulder all the time.

The question is, what player/recruit are you losing because of this.

If there was a violation, there was a target of the violation. If it was severe enough to fire a coach, you guys can't keep the player/accept the recruit.

Again, see: Hicks, Akiem

As long as Emmert is running the NCAA, a Nick Saban led program isn't going to get in any real trouble. Davis falls on the sword, Bama will offer up self imposed penalties they determine won't affect their operations, and we all move on.

Ole Miss will probably get a little extra something on their penalties for Bama's cheating.

Because cheating in ingrained in Bama's culture. It is an accepted way of life there.
The fans, alumni, administration don't care.

And you promptly prove his point for him.

This is the million dollar question. Hopefully the rumor WallaceWade alluded to is correct and it is a kid Bama didn't get anyhow.

Would be glorious if it was someone we lost to OM......

Ole Miss is in the shite they are because of how they handled it and acted like they were better than everyone else with Freeze's preacher role play. If they would've slowly started building the program and if Freeze wouldn't have had such a weak ego on twitter, things may have been different.

On the surface the Bama violation seems very similar to what happened at LSU as has already been mentioned.

Evidence comes out player didn't come to Bama (think it's someone in Mississippi isn't it?) so you fire the offending party, hope there's no evidence linking it to more than one person and move on.

NCAA didn't investigate the Hicks thing at LSU. LSU still got put on probation and lost scholarships, right? Oh and LSU certainly isnt a multiple repeat offender
