Giving up only 2 runs, even though he gave up 9 hits, is not getting "knocked out of the game". There is a reaon why they have the #1 rated pitching staff in CBB.

Skenes is in a tier of his own, however, Wake has 4-6 pitchers better than our #2/3. If we win tomorrow it will be because of a superhuman performance by our pitching staff, our bats continue to be red hot, or some combination of both.

They pulled him in the 6th because Stanford was working pitch counts and hitting him. He was well over 100 pitches in the 6th.
And I love how people see those regional scores and that 22-5 score against Bama but fail to mention how they almost lost to that very average team the game before. They played George Mason and Maryland in their regional. Wake Forest hasn't seen an animal like this LSU line up.
