It's what I said to everyone that wanted their SEC team to immediately get Deion as head coach. You really don't know what you are getting. FCS is not an SEC proving ground. He needs to run the aspects of an FBS team before he is a proven commodity.
Yeah, I don't think he would win in the SEC. Top recruits come here.
He will help Colorado but after his son (who is a good QB is gonej the whole thing comes tumbling down.

Deion taking this job means two things. First, he was desperate, or determined, to leave JSU. Secondly, he was not as hot of a commodity as he, and many here, thought that he was. Colorado is not a good fit…at all.

It was not bad at all. Primetime might be what they need.

He had good intentions but after the thefts and his son getting his window busted out at the football facility he knew he had to get out. Only a matter of time before someone tried to carjack him or worse.

Fit doesn't really matter. He doesn't have to appeal to Colorado honkies. He appeals to the masses and Colorado was beyond desperate to have some sort of relevancy.

quote:They are obviously willing to make some investment, as they don't pack up the football program entirely, but I think of it like a worse version of UGA before Smart got here. Our administration was always willing to "invest" in the program in mostly insignificant ways, but it wasn't until Smart convinced them that they needed to pony up some big bucks on some major improvements to things like facilities before we'd be consistently in the hunt for championships that they loosened their purse strings.
I think the future of the PAC has them worried and ready to make the investment
I think Deion will have to use this position as another launching pad.

Moving from Jackson, Mississippi to Boulder, Colorado

I think UC-Boulder will be a problem for a lot of people on the recruiting trail, and on the field.

I doubt Deion is looking at Colorado as his last job. The facts are the Colorado administration has agreed to lessen their transfer restrictions as Deion wanted and I doubt Deion took the job without knowing if Colorado boosters would make a significant NIL investment. And, after watching the Pac 12 championship, the Pac 12 is weak. USC looks small and aside from their QB, WRs, and TE, the rest of the squad is well below SEC standards. Utah is a good program but I have to think Deion will out-talent them. I know it was early in the season but Florida was just as physical as Utah. The issue with Deion is development of talent and program management. But, Deion could very well have Colorado being bowl eligible during his first season.

Not according to Deion.

I like Coach Prime. He speaks the language these guys understand. He will recruit like a mutha, and put players on the field. Now can he actually coach? Not sure yet. But I bet he hires guys that can. If he turns Colorado around he won't be there long. He will move up.

I liked the part of the press conference where he pointed out that Boulder, Colorado was pretty much crime-free.

I agree. And, the more Prime coaches I don't think he cares to go back to FSU. If Deion succeeds at Colorado I think he will be in play at a place like TAMU because Jimbo isn't the guy and I assume only still has his job because his buyout is so big.

It was cringe, but then so is the whole coach prime thing.
Will colorado let him continue to advertise his own brand on their logo clothing?

I'm curious about this myself. I researched and found out that Colorado's Nike deal ends in 2024 I believe. So, Deion may have to wait and try to bring them over to UA once that contract ends.

Honestly not worse that Orgeron, Pruitt, and a bunch of others I’ve seen.

They will not win more than 4 games. In his two years there.

We will see. They play in the pac10 so it doens't take much to win there.
