I can understand the Chase opt out, but has the Neuman opt out
destroyed all hope at Georgia? Has he played enough to get a NFL bid? This young man has a chance to show his talents yet he chooses to watch from the stands. I feel for you guys.

I don't hate him. He made a choice that he thought was best for himself. The timing wasn't great but there are much more important things in life to care about than a 22 year old deciding to prepare himself for the draft.

And with JT’s knee still a problem they are left with basically a no name at QB. Not that he won’t have talent, but both of those losses are a huge blow to UGA.

No hate.

He has a chance to show his talents at the combine. Best of luck to him.

He could have cemented his first round status with a more talented UGA team than what he played with at Wake
Plus with the extra year he could have come back as well

I would say opting out cost him a couple million and he probably goes in 2nd or 3rd round at this point

With a strong year even Myle Brennan could pass him up draft wise

You may be right.

But the NFL really never gives a damn what a kid does in college. It is all about potential. It is all about making 1 team taking the player higher than other teams.

It's his choice (I think it's a poor one) and I wish the best of luck to him.

We don't hate him at all.

And it is Newman.

dude...you are projecting.

No hate for Newman.

IMO he probably left because there is a quarterback on UGA's roster that is better then him. Being passed on the depth chart is not good optics when you are going into the draft in the spring. It is a good business decision to opt out.

Explain DK Metcalf being the 7th drafted receiver in his class despite clearly having the best potential (6’4”, sub 4.4-40. Scouts are supposed to evaluate on potential but they didn’t believe in Metcalf because he played on a bad team. As if there was something he could do about the defense giving up 40 points a game.

He had better WRs last year. He couldn’t win/keep a spot on an ACC team and UGA wasn’t in position to improve his skill set. Monken is an WR guy not a QB guru.

I'm sorry. I'm not a DK Metcalf expert.
I know that Matt Ryan threw 19 interceptions as a 5th year senior. Top NFL draft pick. Those picks at quarterback happen all of the time. College players opt out all the time because they know that the film against college players doesnt stack up to what an alpha OC/DC thinks that they can accomplish with the player. Potential beats out production more often than not.

Everything I’ve read is that JT’s knee is still bothering him.

When is the last time that UGA commented publicly about the knee and what was said? It is OK to answer that you dont know.
