Newman definitely put a kind of a damper on the season for me at least but I don't blame him doing whatever he thinks is best for him. I seriously think our O line and running game is more of a concern...it would be hard to be worse at throwing the ball than we were last year between Fromm regressing and a lack of receivers and all in all it was still a pretty good year....I don't think we take a step backwards unless Stetson Bennet is the QB and even then we will be in the SEC east hunt....gotta be honest though the QB situation is becoming a concern, at least for me. UGA doesn't need a Joe Burrow type season every season but QB play in the SEC is more important today than it used to be and we seem to struggle with it...I think the ship gets right but it has it to do.....

Dont know. Last public statement from Kirby was 7 days ago. He could have been cleared and no one outside knows.

I dont see him being cleared until just before Arkansas. There is no need to release that info. How does releasing that info change practice? How does releasing it help uga?

How does picking a starting QB right before game week affect Georgia?

...I mean are you seriously asking or are you just being facetious? Honestly, getting this close to the season with a QB battle is playing with fire.

Maybe they've already identified their starter but won't release that info to the public until right before the game to keep Arkansas busy guessing.

If you're worried about Arkansas knowing who your Quarterback is you have a serious problem.

I've also heard that each QB is getting to play with the 1's. I just think the gamesmanship is a waste of time, and seeing that they have so many reps with the 1's being split I doubt that's the case.

I mean, if you're lying about the snaps with the 1's, just lie about who the starter is.

Eason liked to party, really liked to party. He lived him some Athens.

It got in the way.

Can't say that I blame him there.

destroyed all hope at Georgia?
Why would it? Everybody on the Rant told us he was a mediocre ACC QB. If anything it should have energized our fan base.

Has he played enough to get a NFL bid?
How would we know. If you can wait a few months we can all find out at the draft.

I feel for you guys.
Why? It's not like he was the only QB we had. Why don't we wait and see how the season plays out then we can decide which teams to feel sorry for and which teams do well?

Just a suggestion.

No QB is facing contact right now.

Wait, is Florida tackling their QBs?

Georgia Southern beat Florida not too long ago. It might be wise to respect all of your opponents.

You have a strange way of looking at some things. Florida fans say Georgia is scared because we post in threads about Florida. What does that say about you?

Sticking with a QB (Franks) through thick and thin is like playing with fire, too, wouldn't you say? Better to make wise decisions. besides, the decision might already be made and they just haven't announced it yet.

Poor bastard was no doubt shell shocked coming from the Seattle area. Seeing the sun more than a few days a month was probably stressful for him. No doubt the number of BEAUTIFUL women was something he was not accustomed to. He would have been in the same condition had he been in Starkevegas....Seattle is about as boring as place can be. Coffee...seriously...coffee is seen as an event in Seattle. Ponder that for a moment.....

Especially since ol' Cocky went in and split your hedges.

This retarded "snerk gotchya" bullshite aside, you ignored the most important part:

If you're just going to lie about it, just say Stetson Bennett is the starter, why play with the topic at all? That makes no sense, and it sounds more like Georgia fans saying there's gamesmanship rather than just admitting that there is an open Quarterback battle two weeks before the first game of the season.

Prep for Arkansas starts Thursday.
That is the biggest tell.

Teams have gone into week 1 with a QB battle before. I think it was a fairly regular occurence at Bama prior to Tua (I dont think hurts was a week 1 starter at QB). That is my point of reference for Kirby.

Could be. But that goes to the quality of players a lot of times. Do we have 2 QBs? No QBs? Kirbys job is to shop for the groceries. We will soon find out. If we do have 2 legitimate options at QB, I think we will be fine this season.

From another thread, do you care to guess UGAs ppg for the 2020 season? You've questioned dawg expectations. What are your expectations?

You cant recruit guys to UGA telling them that they have a shot without giving them a shot. We didnt have a spring.

I mean, who cares?

JT Daniels is the only QB who actually has tape out of the potential starters. And his tape is old. This is just such a joke. "Arkansas won't know what hit 'em, we're playing 6d chess, Straws. ^_~"

No one has fricking tape (that isn't high school) on the other guy, they would just be shooting in the dark for preparation either way.

You asked a question.
I gave a reply.
We arent prepping for Arkansas until Thursday. Reps in last Saturdays scrimmage dont have a ton to do with the first game, imo.
It was for securing a pecking order at the position.

Daniels and Mathis have different skill sets. If you dont think that effects Odoms planning and strategy at the line of scrimmage, I dont know what to tell you.

If you don't know which it's going to be anyway, you're going to prep for them both anyway. But as I said: Only one has actual footage to go off, so they'll likely default to just their base defense.

I think it's far more likely that Kirby was planning on starting Newman, Newman opted out and now he has a legitimate QB battle going on behind the scenes.

Much more likely than Kirby playing 6d chess to fake out Arkansas with a QB that has no tape and another QB with a bad knee. Oh, and there's a big difference (as has been pointed out to you multiple times) between being cleared for contact medically and contact against Quarterbacks. Florida has contact with Quarterbacks in fall practice. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/florida-football/watch-florida-qb-kyle-trask-trucks-defender-during-fall-camp/
