The thing is, TAMU played VERY well early in the season, even when they lost. The last half of the season, they played like a homecoming victim that just didn't give a s#!t.

I guess all slams against aTm are done by sips. It's not like average Joe football fan thinks $75M =/= 7-5.

I mean, c'mon, man.

A&M being bad shouldn’t be news. It only is because the Rant fell trap to their fans lies.

That’s fine, you’re entitled to your opinion. Just don’t give me Jerome Solomon and expect me to take him seriously.

“A&M has been the most disappointing program in college football.

Note I didn’t say underachieving. As much as I argue that is the case, at a certain point, the data overwhelms that narrative. Perhaps losing four games a year is A&M’s lot in life.”

I told you this from the day Aggie came to the SEC.

At some point you have to wonder are there too many chefs in the kitchen for Texas football as a whole? You have a small army of colleges in the state and even more outside the state fishing for recruits. Declaring that you are going to fix your recruiting woes by going after Texas football players is no longer a sure fix because everyone in the country is going after them.

Aggie hater or not, this is spot on!

Texas is huge, but all the cuts make the slices of the pizza tiny. I don’t see the 7 1/2 million dollar man changing this! He would have done fine at LSU because we recruit Louisiana extremely well, Texas and Mississippi very well, Florida and Georgia well, and Alabama moderately well. Of course O has proven the better coach. Better recruiter despite all the shrimp boat captain bs, better motivator, better innovator, and a fantastic developer of talent.

I don’t think Jimbo will light a dumpster fire in College Station unless unreasonable Aggie expectations make his job untenable. But I also don’t foresee a post WW II Natty.

That’s reasonable. Jimbo will have to pull some select recruits from out of state as well.

I sure hope he’s aware of this!

This is sort of vitriolic hyperbole that Jerome Solomon has been slinging for years.

It is cute when folks outside the state stumble on one of his quips and view it as some sort of fresh, hot take.

Jerome Solomon absolutely HATES A&M. Don’t know if he’s a Longhorn grad or just a homer. But his bias has been no secret for years. He really showed his arse when A&M left for the SEC. Looks like he is still talking about it.

So yeah, he’ll try to put A&M down to take the attention off Tom Herman’s failures at Texas this year. Totally different circumstances. But that’s why people don’t sound intelligent when they try to say the two programs are similar.

Your post loses credibility as he criticized Herman and Texas as well, and did so in a direct fashion. e.g., Herman is firing coaches left and right and saying don't blame me. Well this is year 3 for Herman and who hired those coaches. Who recruited those players? etc. He criticized the other Power 5 teams in Texas along with A&M, i.e. Texas Tech and TCU.

He gave Baylor credit for their season, etc.

Seems like a very solid critique of the Power 5 football programs in Texas.

I agree. A&M losing 5 games per season shouldn’t be considered disappointing. It’s par for the course.

What makes it an easy target is how much A&M tries and how much crap they talk just to always be the same mediocre product.

Yeah if you’re A&M you’re paying someone 75 million to turn you into a great program that can win SEC championships. You didn’t just need someone to get you over the hump. That’s not to say Jimbo will get it done or not. I’m just saying he was never going to do it in 2 years.

You also told us in another thread that Lane Kiffin has "mostly sucked" at FAU.

So this board is well aware of your football IQ.

It’s cuter when Aggie fans continue to malign him and ignore his argument. Character attacks are fun but they don’t really do anything to dispel his observation. Easier to say “we think it was a good hire and Jimbo is doing a fine job and the results are okay.” It’s telling that no one is making that argument.

UK won as many games as aTm with a wide receiver playing quarterback.

Ouch.

Jimbo finding that the SEC is far tougher sledding than the ACC, who knew. You can be a complete shite program and finish with only a loss at Clemson in that conference....

Jimbo, welcome to the sec...acc don't go round here.
