Unlike many (most?) of my younger Aggie brethren I'd like to see the game happen again. I don't give a damn which team would "benefit" most from the game or who did what to whom. Football fans in Texas deserve this game.

I would like, though, for the next meeting to actually mean something, like a NY6 bowl or better rather than two mediocre teams playing a regular season game.

That may take awhile because both team are crap right now. Herman is an idiot who can’t even get the best Texas talent in the state ( but he can beat Georgia) and Jimbo is an overpaid overrated windbag.

bullshite. We have moved on. You and those turds haven't

I know little of the rivalry but often watched it during a period when little else was on.

My question is: How do you move on from an instate rival that dominates the discourse?

100% agree, but both are crappy right now.

At least with a regular season game that has no implications results in bragging rights for 365 days until the loser gets another shot the next year. IIRC, that's basically been the Egg Bowl for the past 60 years sans 2014

But Thanksgiving week only and home & home each year. Do it the right way or don't do it at all

Those programs are by all accounts good business partners to one another. Texas was a terrible business partner to A&M

This is my favorite of all of the aggy whiny excuses for not playing us. “Bad business partners??” Hahaha. They have so little faith in their leadership that the big bad longhorns would walk all over them/ somehow bamboozle their program over a football game- I repeat, a football game.

The only business we have had is kicking your crybaby asses up and down the field for a century. Now go blubber on your new conference “rivals” shoulders. They’ll rub your back as you continue the most aggy of all traditions: losing.

A&M still afraid? Nice local series. Never really meant much in the national scene. Did they ever played both as top 5 teams? Or even top 10 teams? Doubt it.

Op those MF's cancelled the series. not Aggies. We are sick and tired of even hearing about this shite.

I like seeing the Aggies having some P5 games from around the country.

Expand on how UT is worthless? They’re a blue blood with a massive brand in arguably the biggest battle ground state in the country for recruits. Playing and winning that game would show who owns the state. It’s common sense.

How many times to we have to post this? This particular article is from 2017 in SB Nation....

It’s been six years since Texas and Texas A&M have played in football. The two schools met a total of 118 times — the first matchup was in 1894 — until the Aggies moved away from the Big 12 and joined the SEC in 2012.

Although college football teams schedule a few out-of-conference games each season, these two longtime foes haven’t made any plans to renew the series. According to AL.com, not only did Texas make a point in no playing the Aggies, it reportedly involved the rest of the Big 12.

"Their AD (DeLoss Dodds) at the time came out and said we will never play Texas A&M again, and they worked along with Baylor and the conference to have no one in the (Big 12) schedule us," Texas A&M athletic director Byrne said. "There were other forces at work to make sure we didn't play."

Austin’s got the homos and A&blM has the activist

Texag7 is starting petitions fo change offensive mascots and Kellololen Mond is out making a difference with his statements

“To me if you’re not a racist, then you’re a racist”

Texas aka East California is really setting the bar in this new woke movement. Congrats you liberal bitches

I side with the Aggies in this, Eff' Texas. Everything they are involved with sours because they have to have it their way.Look at how many schools bail from their Conference. Aggie go whoop that azz! and kick that queer coach upside his head while you're at it!

this is my major issue with the posturing from A&M fans. Why do you guys care so much? Seems like way too much effort is being put into not “giving in” when what it boils down to is a historic rivalry being renewed.

Everyone would love to see it, besides one of the actual fan bases involved? Doesn’t make much sense, imho.
