Have y’all discussed the Neyland Entertainment District?

SIAP, searched and didn’t see anything.
This is coming to all major programs in America I bet. And it’s a shame. I doubt Tennessee fans really asked for this. Unless that area was not previously used for tailgating and this is not taking away folks tailgating spots that have been there for decades, I’m completely against it.

I’d rather have a mixed use entertainment facility outside the stadium next to the river than a parking garage. Knoxville has finally decided to go all in on maximizing the river
The new pedestrian bridge from south Knox to the stadium will help a lot with parking.

No this is a complete mess. G10 is a staple of UT and the main place for students to park. UT is a college not an amusement park and the fact that this part of campus is being turned into the Battery in Atlanta is so dumb. No one wants to park in South Knoxville and walk across the whole river to the game amd students dont want to walk the river to the hill in 100 degree heat and 20 degree cold

G10 is the number 1 tailgating spot at UT as well as the main parking garage for all students. If you are from knoxville you grew up tailgating on G10 with your friends and family. If you were a student at UT then you most likely got a parking ticket in G10 one time. Yes its a staple

Man I hate that for yall, I truly do. All these money whore ADs need to be put in check.
They do any and everything to screw the fans (who make the stadium a destination) at every single turn.

We're doing the same thing. It's dumb. Outside of 7 home games a year, what businesses are going to set up shop there to make it a viable destination for Lexington residents? I'm sure the people in Knoxville have the same question about theirs.

From my understanding, every penny generated from the one at UT is going to the university. Or at least the athletic program. And I’m sure they’ll be open throughout the year daily.
It’ll be like Texas Live if you’ve ever been to it next to the Rangers stadium.

Knoxville is having unprecedented growth, as is Tennessee as a whole. I think the idea is that if they develop the downtown riverfront further, they will be able to use this entertainment district year-round.
Spring: Concerts at Neyland
Summer: Riverfront bars and restaurants for people on the water
Fall: Football Season
Winter: Basketball
The amount of development that has already happened on the other side of the river is insane. In the last 5 years, it has become unrecognizable from what it was my whole life prior to Covid. Covid transplants to the South are ruining everything that made the area so great.

What I hate about it is that the Tennessee campus is already too urban, tight and crowded as it is.... for the beautiful setting that it is in. This is going to make that problem even worse.
If they had been forward thinking back in the day... UTK could have been one of the beautiful campuses in the country with the river and the hills in the background.

UT has some really beautiful buildings like Ayers Hall. Somewhat similar to the architecture at OU. Then they started building a lot of architecturally incongruent, modern stuff which was just butt ugly. They eventually got it right again with the new law school and have continued with an architectural plan that pays homage to Ayers Hall and the law school all across the campus. It's vastly different today than even from the early 1990's.
