I stopped caring when they gave it to eddie George over peyton manning, then it got worse with manziel, jamies Winston, and scam newton. then there's RG3 who won it with 3 losses on the season and then the obvious favoritism towards inferior Oklahoma teams that can't produce a national chamption. But most of all with all the great teams that have come out of alabama (not auburn) mark ingram was the first player from alabama to win a Heisman...ever.

Lost it’s prestige after Mark Ingram won

Charlie Ward refused to be drafted as a wide receiver and decided to go pro in basketball where he played over 12 years with the New York KNics and retired!!!! So I would say he has had great success

Heisman won a MNC at Georgia Tech (his only one)
They named a trophy after him...
And buried right here in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

It's given to one hit wonder QB's almost all of the time.

Recent History has seen some who've won over way more deserving players.
You don't know your history if you think this is only a recent thing.
A ton of Heisman winners from Notre Dame and USC are only Heisman winners because they went to Notre Dame and USC. They were no where near the best players in the country.

Did it take UPS 14 years to deliver Herschel his trophy?

I still think its cool even though they have a bias towards players on better teams.

Considering OP is referencing Pro careers, this seems incorrect.

This conversation has been ongoing for as long as I can remember and I don't think the Heisman has ever been a worthy trophy.

Sounds like every Alabama fan pre-2009.

Popularity contest or highest bidder. Meaningless.

There honestly has not been a true clear cut winner since Cam Newton

Died in October, ground was still soft hopefully
Bigger question is why are you living Wisconsin much less Rhinelander?
I can see the outdoors in the summer but paper plants smell in the south.
