Yeah. There have been plenty of years where more deserving players finished second or 3rd. I Pretty much considered it a farce when Deshaun Watson didn’t win it during the 2016 national championship run. He had the ability to take over games, his will to win was undeniable, it was obvious he was the best player on the field in Tampa in the national title game, as he took over that game.

It used to be more of a farce than it is now. SEC schools were ignored for the most part until the 2000s. 7 SEC players won the first 72 years from 1935-2006, including no Alabama players who had won 7 of the SEC's 15 wire service NCs during that period. The SEC has won 5 HTs since 2007 during which time it has won 8 NCs (Alabama 5 of the 8 with 2 HT winners).
Now it is mostly a stat trophy for P5 QBs. Rarely has the best player won it. If I recall correctly only 2009 and 2015 were legitimate winners .

OU's illegitimate winners of late have added to the loss of prestige - playing flag football should disqualify any offensive player from contention.

Only if Tua wins this year can the Heisman Trophy hope to regain any of its glory.

Thanks for catching that, thought I put them in.

PS, f*ck Southern Cal

Best thing to happen to college football was the CFA, broke that NCAA monopoly favoring the B1G and PAC. F*ck Brent Musberger for smooching Rose Bowl arse after WWII.
