Lol claiming a title during the middle of WWII is as bitchmade as it gets.

Rest assured that if the General was not overseas fighting for his country, his VOLS would have beaten Georgias frick and won another Natty.

if it's easier to get there then it's easier to win it

as opposed to not getting there at all and having a 0% chance to win it

it IS harder for the best team in the country to win it now, but that's not what you asked.

Actually, if you used the old BCS system the way they did in the last BCS Championship game (Auburn vs. Florida St.), the two teams playing for the BCS Championship this year would have been Clemson and UGA. We probably would have won the BCS Championship if it still existed.

It has 100000000x more merit than your 1941 claim. Of course you know that, you just live to hate uga for some reason. I'm guessing you grew up in gwinnett county and even with HOPE didn't get into UGA so you've made it your personal vendetta to be bitter for life. You aren't unique in that regard either, I know tons of people that fit that bill. Sorry your parents realized there was better opportunity in GA than AL and moved here when you were born to give you a better life.

Agreed - I guess it depends if you would have been in before or not.

From the Alabama perspective.........

2014 - Cost us a national championship. Feel confident we would have beaten FSU or Oregon, whoever they chose to put at #2. Ohio State would have been out

2015 - Didn't matter, same result

2016 - Didn't matter, same result (though I think an argument could be made we perform better with the long break than the short one, small part of the grand scheme of things though)

2017 - Won us a national championship

So, it evened out 1-1 for us.

This is why I fvckin hate 1941 so damn much. If it was just wiped away we'd legitimately be able to say "Rose Bowls + AP/Coaches". But noooooooooooo, we have to go and claim a title in a year that would be classified as a failure in the Saban era.

Frickin idiots.

I don't know if that's true.

in good conferences you have 3 top 10 teams in a row if you play in the conference title game. UGA played Auburn, OU and Bama.

How is it possibly easier? You now have to play and win one more game against one of the four best teams in the country.

I think his point is a team like Alabama in 2017 or Ohio State in 2014 would have 0% shot in the old system. They have a shot in the new one.

So, if you are #1 or #2 it's clearly harder. If you are #3 or #4 you go from zero chance to a hard chance.

if we count the way everyone else does we have 5.

What about just counting AP, Coaches Poll, BCS, and Playoff Championships? How many do you have?

Easier: 4 chances to get in instead of 2. Harder: Have to win 2 games instead of 1.

it is objectively true actually

more opportunity to win it = easier to win it

it's only harder for teams who, under the old system, would have had to only play 1 game instead of 2.

It's been almost 20 years since you've won the SEC. Not the National Championship. The SEC. Think about that.

What about all of our AP national championships? Which by the way we have more than anyone. Does 1942 have more merit still?

This. You don't even have to win your division to win the NC.

You do remember Alabama didn't win their division in 2011, right? BEFORE the playoffs?
