Sorry to age some people. Is it really like kissing your sister? Was watching the choke at doak. How that could end tied I don’t know. At the bar do you talk shite about coming back and tieing? Or how did that work

No but I was at MSU’s loss to Auburn 3-2. What a terrible thing to watch.

Came to post this. Not a tie on the scoreboard but both fanbases hit the rock bottom of pride that night

That should've been an FCC violation.
It's like walking in on someone dropping a load. You saw it but wish you hadn't.

Last one I remember us having was 1985. Rules changed in there somewhere after that.

I think playing to a tie ended after the 1995 season, so no...I never attended a tie football game unless we count my kid's pee-wee careers.

It was like watching a car crash at 5 MPH.

Ala-LSU in Baton Rouge. 14-14? Shula was our QB. Humphrey got hurt early in the game. LSU missed a short FG late and then Perkins sat on the ball and ran out the clock. I was young. All I remember.

I was at the 1985 Bama-LSU game

*** As above mentioned.

***Bama scored with a 1:30:00 left and kicked an extra point instead of going for 2. Then LSU drove and missed a FG. I just remember Bama fans being just as mad syaing Bear Bryant would have gone for 2.

Yes. 1990 AU vs TN. Also 1994 AU vs UGA.

Bama 17 - UT 17 (‘93). Palmer got it done at the QB position.

Even though it was in the midst of a solid Bama win streak over UT, that tie felt like a win in the stadium. Great childhood memory.

It was the right call. We hadn't moved the ball much all day. I think Shula and a few RB's were really banged up. Very lucky we got the shank too.

It was a good game.

didn't we got for 2 on the half back pass? or was that the TD?

The Crimson Tide drove 68 yards in 12 plays to tie LSU, a march that included a 29-yard pass from Mike Shula to Al Bell on fourth-and-19.

The Crimson Tide used a gadget play to tie the game, with Jelks throwing to Shula for a 2-yard touchdown. Van Tiffin's extra point made it 14-14 with 1:24 to play.

Unless a tie directly wins you a championship, advances you a round, or in any other way directly helps you in winning a championship I don’t see how I would ever consider it a good call to go for a tie. Maybe I’m wrong and just not alive in the moment but I have to try and win for 2 yards

No but was listening to the Auburn - Syracuse Sugar Bowl game on the radio as I was driving. It seemed selfish not to try and win on the last play, like Dye was more concerned about adding a loss to his record than a win for the team.

I mean we barely scored at the end of the game. This was before you could move the ball down field in a hurry. Teams didn't pass like they do today. So different. Shula had completed only 14 passes for 150 yards. Our WR's caught 4 passes all day. And the no losing streak in BR was intact.
