Yes, it can apply to TAMU. But why not state it honestly as changing conferences twice in the last 26 years?
Should be noted that TAMU didn't want Big 12, they wanted SEC back in 1995/6 and were forced by Texas legislature, I thought.

The Aggies talk a lot about wanting to beat Texas.... now it looks like they want to avoid playing them.
To be fair, when the crazy bitch you're dating has burned down every house you've ever lived in, it may not be a bad idea to be a bit leery/cautious.

I think most Arkansas fans don't want Texas in the SEC, either. No love lost by Arkansas for Texas. Goes back to the SW Conference days.

You’re probably wrong.
Most would love to start playing them again annually in all sports.

You’re probably wrong. I’d love to play them every year, OOC. I don’t ever want to be in a conference with those entitled, arrogant fricks.

Taking the politics out of the equation, most older razorback fans do want to play them again.

You can say the same thing with most of the SEC schools. Texas will fit right in.

Texas would have a far better shot of returning to prominence in the Big 12 than the SEC.
Same with OU for that matter

frick A&M, but man if I can’t relate to this. I’ve got one exactly like her and she’s got a PhD from Stanford….

If I were a big dog in the SEC, I would consider that one hell of an insult. The SEC has been share and share alike forever. Texas has never been in a conference where they didn’t take the lion’s share, and let every other conference member fight for the crumbs. And if they have any say in the matter, they will advocate for the same thing in the SEC.

Texas will join because they don't want but need to. They have three options. They can stay in the Big 12 that will eventually dissolve, they can become an independent and risk doing business by themselves or join a conference that isn't being dragged by dead weight.
I believe they thought a bout going Independent with the help of the LHN but it didn't generate the viewership or money needed to do so. So that leaves them no choice but to join the SEC.
It doesn't matter what Texas says, they will be joining a conference full states that don't share the Texas name and will not be pushed around.

Some get it. Texas is a cancer, that has killed one conference, and has been slowly killing another
If Texas thinks they will come in here swinging their dicks, like they have done in the Big 12 for decades, they are sorely mistaken. The Big 12 gave them power they shouldn't have. They will be just another name in the SEC.

Great article on why Texas should NOT be invited
"Aggies fans take a good look. Texas has come to the realization that they are now what they have feared the most, the “Little Brother” and this is their desperate attempt to regain alpha status. We should all point and laugh at the hypocrisy. It is a joke, much like the Longhorns program over the past decade. Why would the SEC want such a floundering operation anyway?"
I approve this message. The worm has definitely turned and it's hilarious.
There's no way on God's green earth that "The University of" Texas is Aggies little brother, nor will they ever be. Texas could write their ticket to any conference they want to be in and the red carpet will be rolled out. Aggie got cucked into joining the SEC just so teams like BAMA and Georgia could get a recruiting footprint in Texas...Before Aggie joined the SEC there was a big wall around Texas recruiting and Texas and OU owned it...
You can ask any Texan outside of people that went to A&M what the flagship University in Texas is and what do you think they would answer? Everyone knows it is sitting in Austin.
Why do you think Aggie fans are crapping their pants and acting like they should be on suicide watch on this board and every other board? They know who the Big Brother is, and they know the other Big Brother is coming with him...

I don't see Texas being able to compete in the SEC, I can't think of a single team in the West that I'm sure they'd beat
They better hope Sark is the answer to their prayers but I think the problem is their program, not the coaches
This isn't about beating Texas, it's about Texas going to another conference that might ending up destroying this conference! This might be the third one. It is Texas's reputation of destroying conferences!

Cbb, stop putting your pain out there to get dunked on then. horns down are the new kids in town not y’all so act like it. I can’t wait for them to come into the SEC with their chest puffed out only to see their heart and soul crushed by big boy football. It’s gonna be glorious
