I mean Auburn beats us every 5 years or so. So that makes it hard. Ish. Once in awhile.

Auburn poster wanting to discuss player development at Georgia, when Auburn hasn't had a first-round draft pick in the last 5 years.

You sure about that? The state was #1 with 26 draft picks in '17 and last year Chubb, Roquan,Lorenzo and Bradley Chubb were highly ranked drafted but the state didn't put an overall great number.

I think the '20 draft will be much better with Fromm and Derick Brown listed as top 10 guys already.

That was interesting. The percentage number makes sense to me.. I knew we stunk, but this helps verify that.

Pretty bad considering Byron Cowart managed to get drafted in the 5th. That dude’s career was a waste considering he stayed out of trouble.

What really pops off the charts, here, is Clemson. Impressive. Shoot, even impressive for Ole Miss; the crap their program has been wading through.

And last season 5* DT Trenton Thompson became the first #1 Prospect in history to go undrafted.

The #2 ranked player in that class (rated .0001 lower in composite) was a four-year starter at Florida who went undrafted, too.

Top 25 rated corners from LSU and FSU both declared early... undrafted.

Clemson's four-year starter at tackle, a top 25 rated player... also undrafted.

That is just from the 2015 class alone. There are countless examples of highly ranked recruits who weren't drafted early or at all from almost every school, but I know why you're singling Georgia out.

I am particularly interested in the fact that Florida has more Top 247 players during this time period than UGA. Was the cupboard really so bare for Gameday Genius Dan?

And, by the way OP, nice troll. You do not have much to work with, but excellent effort on few resources.

It must really suck to know that every player you mentioned beat Awwbarn in Atlanta back in 2017...

Yall lost to Tennessee and have an .500 winning percentage against Vandy.

Why do you think that is?

Too much coverage as high school players. Rankings and egos get inflated. That’s my theory anyway.

This is being reflected in UGA’s huge shift to targeting less in-state players, imo.

Maybe not a trend, but that’s two low output years in a row. Next year doesn’t look great in terms of numbers relative to how many GA prospects were highly ranked.

To be clear, I’m not saying there aren’t a lot of good players in GA. Just not on the scale that is currently shown on recruiting sites.

Here is a 5 years study done on player development that was written last week.

That link is useful but it didn't put any weights on where those guys got drafted.

A first rounder and a seventh rounder were treated the same for that study. They should do a follow up and show where they were drafted roundwise

Man, this is probably it. I like how we just all assume every single "scout" is correct, and surely once they combine all of their opinions, the ranking will be spot on....No. Every human sees individually, and reaches conclusions individually. We seek understanding for the sake of our sanity, but the fact is; things don't always have to be compared.
