Yea if I’m coach I immediately tell him to get fricked and have the marketing team remove every image of him off socials. I guess he can still show up in the stat book. Complete joke.

Nothing says you love your university like extorting them for NIL money.

I’d take it all of this in stride like other UGA posters have said and wait until someone reputable reports this. But it’s not some sort of unbelievable thing given the landscape now in college football. All of it still sickens me. Imagine if it’s true, though, then who has to do the work to go find that money? It’s not coming from the university, because that’s not allowed. You have to have a whole staff of people dedicated to NIL with huge booster money, and I’m sure eventually those boosters are going to get tired of funding the teams. Like I said, it’s out of control already. I know nothing about how this works, but I assumed that the kids would do commercials and stuff, and get paid that way through outside entities. I’ve seen billboards with Ladd McConkey around Atlanta area. I assumed he got paid for those. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Other coaches shouldn’t be allowed to contact kids either, but who’s policing it? Nobody, because the NCAA is a limp dick now. So it’s a free for all

Depends on how much they win. Obviously if you shite the bed every year like Jimbo the boosters are going to get tired of funding the team real quick. If you are winning 10+ every year and are consistently in the hunt for conference and national championships then the boosters will keep on spending. This isn't a normal economic transaction. Profit isn't the motive behind the investment here. Winning is.

That is almost on the brink of extortion. Demanding to be paid an unreal amount knowing who's behind him on the depth chart. This is where NIL and the free agent transfer portal have taken college football.

Also a fix for depth chart and extortion by existing guys.

College football is a terrible product.

Cam was a fricking steal.

College football has officially jumped the shark. Just call it what it is now. An NFL semipro farm league.

0-2 against Daddy BAMA in that timeframe. Nice "stranglehold".

That feels gross and not what NIL should be.
That’s exactly what NIL should be. If it weren’t for NIL, he would be going pro with no opportunity to keep him

Daddy never taught you what a calendar year is.
Forrest never knew who his daddy was. That probably explains a lot of gumps.

I forgot the "in SEC Championship games". Anyways, 1-2 overall. That's still not a stranglehold, especially when your coach is 1-5 overall against Alabama.

He's good, but wouldn't a lot of other QBs look pretty good behind that offensive line? IMO, UGA needs to invest in WRs. After Bowers and McConkey got dinged up, it didn't seem like anyone could catch a ball. No UGA WR had more than 600 yards receiving this season, and only McConkey averaged more than 50 ypg (among WR's with 10 or more receptions this season).

I would move on if true. Clearly they have a system in place that’s working. They can use that NIL $ elsewhere
It's sad that college football has become like the NFL in that you'll have free agents and holdouts every year.

All the bleeding heart NIL, the kids should get paid crowd are getting what they asked for.
4 mill is average salary for middle of the road TE in the NFL and some are below that. No way should what a kid is making in college compare to what ANY NFL player makes. Even practice squad players.

The NIL fiasco is actually a result of not paying players for their labor. But facts are boring in the face of a good fantasy...

Wonder what Alabama's QB made last year.

And the NCAA digging in its heels for years when it could have guided the change.
