Wrong
Players would go for Pittboss.
That is what he was. He was the glue.

Bama fans are so soft. I'd guarantee you that Kirby knew the recruiting class a good as anyone on that staff.
I'm not saying this happened or not, but do you really think this had any bearing on the recruiting class for that year?
Kirby's lowest ranked recruiting class was, guess when. The year he left. Who were all of these 5 star recruits he supposedly stole from Bama?
You've taken what is probably a blatant lie and run with it to further your hatred for the man. One would think you would look at Kirby's record against Bama as good enough "revenge" to satisfy you.
Yup.
Bama fans dont have any logic.
Kirby took the board and showed recruits where they ranked on the board.
If he showed the top Bama target that they were the top Bama target, do you think that impresses them and gets them to reject Bama?
Of course not.
He told the 2nd or 3rd targets where they stood and they could choose where they wanted to sign from there.
Kirby didn't steal any of Bamas guys.

Pittman was a helluva recruiter.
We haven't had a better OL recruiter before or since.
But our OL has been better.
Better coached. Better prepared.
I remember starting the 2020 season against Arkansas. We had Owen Condon starting right tackle. He didn't make it through the game. Warren McClendon took the job and never gave it back.
Pittman had all off-season. All summer. All camp to get a plan for game 1.
He rewarded the upperclassman.
McClendon ended up a freshman all American. He became a 4 year starter, All SEC OL, and 2 time national champion.
PittBoss' skill was connecting with people. He had imperfections in execution.

Great guy. Completely unable to deal with the new NIL/transfer crap that is ruining football.
He just did t have the status Saban had to be able to just throw the towel in…but he quit trying after the NIL and portal hit.

Those recruiting boards are memorized they are so in your face in the coaches offices.
Saved Kirby a few days of work by taking the picture, get over it.

I'm quite sure that there have been plenty of other referral situations over the years.
As others have said this used to be pretty common back in the good ole days.

Yep, I think he would have been a long standing excellent coach for Arkansas, but NIL took away his advantage which was recruiting. He was setup for success in that he brought coaches in that was supposed to get it done, but Arkansas being a poor NIL team did him in.

He had no business being the head coach at Arkansas.

They didn't go for Pittman while he was the head coach at Arkansas.

This is not new. He said when he got here that he wasn't going after anyone he had recruited to Georgia. I know they think they have breaking news but this was known from like day three of Pittman being here. I believe he even said that it was our of respect for Kirby. I probably would have done it differently but it wasn't my decision but I don't hold it against Sam

You’re obviously wrong.
Bc no players switched from Georgia to Arkansas. Thanks for the input though.

Did you miss the part where he told players not to leave UGA for Arkansas?
That is entirely the point.
If he didn't need to say anything, he wouldn't have.

I didnt miss the part about players going to Arkansas, bc it never was said. He stopped players from going to other schools like Tennessee and Clemson that were mentioned. Arkansas is never mentioned as a potential spot for them to go.
No elite offensive lineman recruit was considering Arkansas bc they were coming off back to back 2-10 seasons. Noticed he never pulled an elite OL recruit while at Arkansas in his entire tenure. It’s arguably the worst SEC program in the last 15 years, no blue chip OL recruit is considering it.
Watch the video again, Arkansas is not mentioned. Him telling recruits to stick with Georgia over other schools is mentioned. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input.
Here is more input
But let's go back in time to when Ratledge was still in high school and was a few days out from signing day. He was already committed to Georgia, but Sam Pittman (who was the Bulldogs offensive line coach at the time) was just hired to be Arkansas next head coach.
Ratledge had no clue what to do at this point. He didn't know if he should stick with Georgia or follow Pittman to Arkansas. He also was being aggressively pursued by Tennessee and Clemson who he was giving serious thought to. But in the end he chose to stick with Georgia in part because Pittman called him and told him not to leave.
There are only about a dozen videos of Ratledge saying this over and over. He used to have his own podcast.
Take the L

It sounds like he was really considering going to Arkansas, especially here :
“
“After Pittman left Georgia he did not know what to do. Following him was an option, but he also set up visits to Tennessee and Clemson just days before signing day. But After Smart hired his new offensive line coach he immediately met with Ratledge for over five hours in person. Then Ratledge then got a call from Pittman which is when he told him to stick with Georgia.
So Ratledge listened, cancelled his visits to Tennessee and Clemson, and the rest is history.”
Really sounds like Arkansas was a factor when they weren’t even mentioned in visits. Bc you know - so many recruits just commit to places without taking visits lol. Nowhere does it mention that he even planned on setting up a visit to Arkansas, nor does it sound like Pittman was trying to do that. Bc again, Arkansas was rebuilding off going 4-20 the past 2 years, and a NFL blue chip recruit wouldn’t step foot there if they had a brain.
And speaking of brains , you can just deduce the info for yourself instead of validating something from an msn article that states nothing specifically about Pittman telling ratledge not to go to Arkansas.
Thanks for the top notch info, Georgia “fan”

Ask Tate.
I can’t fathom a bigger waste of my time than listening to teenaged football players talk on a podcast so I’m good but thanks grown man you keep doing you and watching them boys.
He can say whatever he wants, you plan official visits when you’re considering schools. I’m sure it sounded great on his podcast or whatever the frick he said while he’s recounting a story for dramatic effect — but anyone close to him wouldn’t seriously have him considering Arkansas with a 10 foot pole.
Which is why he didn’t schedule an official visit to Arkansas. Like he did with Clemson and Tennessee. Bc he was considering them. And Pittman told him to stick with UGA over those two schools. The end.
