So dumb is the answer. Y’all were beating ou 56-14 at the same time of the game y’all were beating uga 17-3.

It's just a list of the ranked teams that we've played. And the rankings were at the end of the year, not the time we played.

First, I come in peace.

Here is my (mis?) perception about Kirby Smart:

1. He's an ELITE recruiter.
2. He's a very solid developer of talent.
3. He's likely to crush teams with lesser talent.
4. He's likely to struggle with teams with equal talent.
5. He chokes in big moments. He's just not a great game day coach.

44-12 overall and 25-7 in SEC play.
One SEC title, one oh-so-close- near-national championship.
3-1 in bowl games.

What do I have wrong? Why is Kirby the guy to lead UGA to the promised land? What are his strengths and weaknesses? What gives you faith he will get UGA over the hump?

Georgia AD need to replace Kirby with Orgeron!

He doesn't want to just be the best coach in LSU history, he wants to join the upper tier of SEC and National coaches with Bear and Saban.

If he wins another title he will have more than any other coach in LSU history, right? That should at the very least put him in the conversation. Then the longer he can coach there his win totals would certainly go up and that should nail it down for him.

Saban may be the greatest of all time....but Orgeron is just more likeable. Saban is the corporate machine...Orgeron the down home everyday man.

Good luck to you guys.

Yep.

USC shunning him woke a sleeping alligator.

He's coming. And he ain't backing down.

1. He’s our guy. He was born, trained and mentored to be the coach at UGA.

2. He is relentless. He might lose a few battles, but it won’t be for lack of effort.

3. He’s had as successful first 4 years as a HC as anyone could imagine.

Don’t give a frick if y’all don’t like him. We gonna keep taking cruits, beating Gator and Auburn arse. And one day you motherfricking LSU and Bama fans gonna shut your dicksuckers after calling us Champion.

Yawn, Kirby went to the NC in year two ever being a headcoach at any level.

Kirby did not misread the final play on NC and hats off to Tua and his crew, they made the play. Once our guy bit,it was over. Still say a healthy Mimms and Michel and we win.

We have had issues other than defense since.

He has largely frigging owned our east rivals.

LSU caught lightning in a bottle last year and Bama did not have to deal with Bama to get where they are, USC and Texas shot themselves in the foot.

We will be fine.

Great post. Don't get the Kirby hate. Recruits well and have been very successful his FIRST 4 years of being a HC. Georgia boy and alumn and represents UGA really well.

In his first season.

And also lost the NC on the last play.

Kirby Smart is an average football coach. He will never win a title at Georgia. Some teams continue to win. Alabama, LSU, Florida, Ohio State. Some will always lose.. Georgia.. they’re Tennessee and Nebraska now. You can’t win there

This is just dumb all around. People said the same thing about Clemson until they won their first one. And comparing a team that routinely finishes in the top 10 and in the playoff hunt with two teams that haven't sniffed a title in 20 years is over the top dumb. Congrats.

This is the money quote.

Saban and O were both HCs at multiple places before winning a natty. Saban had been a HC for ten years before he won one. O had a transcendent talent leading his team.

The only guy that I can think of that was in a similar position to Kirby as a first year HC is Larry Coker. I would also say Coker had it better; he was handed a dominant team with no other team that could challenge his team. Kirby had growing pains his first season.

No doubt a very good coach and should win this year or for sure next year.

Defensive coaches protect their defenses by keeping them off the field and want to grind the clock on offense. Defense wins championships but the spread offenses attack sideline to sideline and are designed to exploit great defenses.

It's a matter of time for Georgia to up their offensive tempo and win with their good defense.

Some wouldve said the same thing about LSU in the 90s. They hadnt won a title in 40 years when they hired Saban. And had 7 losing seasons in the previous 10 years.

ElleshU got your goat that’s funny!
GA was 1 lucky pass away from a Natty.

How you all lost to that POS Sabah was ridiculous, and y’all will never live it down.

GA is screwed having Newton ONLY 1 YR.
If you had him two years you’d have a shot at it in 2021 — I truly believe!

GA has solved the Alabama Riddle and proved that it can hang with Bama.

Problem is Bama is irrelevant since 2015 except for that 1 humiliating play the Gumps Cling to with a DEATH GRIP

JT Daniels just isn’t gonna hack it in SEC play. You guys shudda grabbed Max Johnson or another like him OUTTA YOUR OWN ST

Kirby ludicrously tries to emulate Sabah and that Dynasty Flew away like a fart in the California wind over a year ago.

Kirby is not without redeeming qualities. He’s trying to emulate LSU FB now.

In his defense:
A) He grabbed Newton (King of Uptempo FB)
Expect: 64 plays a game to shift to 75+
B) He’s implementing Uptempo Ball
Expect: Defensive Issues similar to LSU esp fatigue and limits need to be set (10 consec plays max)
C) He’s trying to switch to Pass First FB from a 2/3 Rush Attack— Good Luck Drawing Up Plays like Sean Payton (takes an incredible review time to implement along with Template of complex checklists) — Not easily copied
D) He’s trying to recruit a stable of WRs & TEs to succeed in Pass First FB.
EXPECT: An attempt at 50:50 Pass Run

Recommend: Stick with your own Brand

Atlanta Falcons — Steal an Asst and Play Falcon Ball

Good Luck
