UGA is just melting because after Saban retired they expected Kirby to become the next Saban but instead he became the next Dabo

Exactly what would we miss by doing so?

Nothing. I think we’d both be better off.

The remaining SEC will be completely pure, like with texas and mizzou and their NFL players.

Well, the SEC has a bylaw prohibiting what Kiffin is doing... rostering a player that entered the draft and didn't promptly withdraw. He waited until he was waived by the NFL.

Just playing devils advocate of course.

I agree with Josh Pate in that this sets a bad precedent.

What happens next year when the majority of the conference decides to kick someone out because they spent too much money in the portal?

Maybe this needs its own thread. But what conference do the GriftinKiffins land in after the showdown at the SEC Corral?

SEC would lose money as well as LSU. They'd probably also lose lawsuits as well which could be extremely costly. Getting expelled would be a temporary setback because if anything, you'll be moving to super conferences soon anyway. If anything, LSU would make out like a champ in other conferences they'd get automatic bids in playoffs every year. Automatic bid to playoffs every year until these conferences finally merge to super conferences seems like fair trade.

when Saban retired the talk was about how many years it would take him to catch Saban in titles consider he’s still young

But since Saban retired Georgia hasn’t been able to win a playoff game, while their fans brag about doing things the “right way” since they don’t hit the portal as hard as teams like Miami, ole Miss, Indiana and now lsu

The truth is they aren’t doing it out of sense of honor, it’s just they don’t have enough money from the South Georgia peanut farms to keep up with oil and corporate money, so they are just using the moral superiority reasoning for trying to be old school, just like Dabo did at Clemson. And like Dabo and Clemson, they are being left behind.

Once again, Lane will not field these players unless the SEC and CFP agree to follow the court order. Which they will have no choice to do if it is passed. They are just hoping we will back down, but its not us! There a lot of athletes involved. LSU can't stop that train and neither can the SEC. If they try after it is granted, they will get sued out of the wazoo. They are just hoping we will get these guys to fold, but its not our choice at this point.

I would not compare Kirby at all to Dabo. Kirby is favored to win the SEC again this year. He is doing it as well as anyone right now.

There is about a 2% chance that LSU gets kicked out of the SEC but if it happens it will be glorious.

The court order doesn't make Lane roster a player against SEC bylaws.

You guys are defending a hill that doesn't matter.

LSU might just find out if the rest of the SEC members are willing to kick them out. The nuclear option is actually being discussed in public now
