It's a Rutgers move. Markets don't matter anymore like they did 10 years ago during expansion. It's not "gonna get them into Florida." Brands and TV ratings matter.

FSU is a really big brand capable of recruiting against anyone. And if FSU goes to the B10, UNC, Clemson, and possibly Miami follow. Do we really want the Big Ten being the dominant presence along the Atlantic Coast from Florida up to the Carolinas? Especially when the SEC has the chance to permanently lock down the Southern US forever? The South will always have the best recruits and we want them to never consider playing anywhere else. The B10 with a strong foothold in SEC country opens up our recruiting to deep pockets up north and in LA.

Maybe I am naive, but I don't think Florida is adamant about not admitting FSU. They know if they get their act together championships can be won in Gainesville irrespective of what the Seminoles are doing.

And sure they’ll make more money in the sec but then they’ll have to play a real schedule for a change so it balances out

It would be a big mistake to give the Big Ten inroads in the deep south. Tally is more southern Georgia than Florida, and FSU has always felt more like an SEC school. It wouldn't be catastrophic or anything if they did go to the Big Ten, but it would be a mistake to dismiss FSU. They are a legitimate brand and bring eyeballs when they are good, whether anyone here wants to admit it.

All the B1G schools are AAU members, with the exception of Nebraska, who was a member and is currently fighting to regain that status. FSU is not AAU and likely will not be invited anytime soon unless the B1G is desperate to establish a recruiting foothold in Florida. Ohio State has been recruiting Florida quite successfully recently.

FSU and Clemson would both be natural fits for the SEC and I would prefer they were invited to the SEC along with an NC and VA school then allowing them to go to the B10.

If I ran the conference it would be FSU, Clemson, Va Tech and UNC OR NCSU.

To me this is easy. Would I rather watch Alabama play FSU and Clemson than Mississippi State, Arkansas, Kentucky, or Vandy? Yes. As long as the teams we add continue to be premier games on the schedule then I am all for anything that dilutes the lower tier teams. With a 12 team playoff I want to be playing 8+ premier games each regular season, not 4-5.

The logic of Florida blocking FSU is to keep them from having the recruiting advantage of being in a premier conference. But in the new world where the Big Ten would take them, that logic goes out the window. If Im UF I would rather have them in the SEC than invite the deep pockets of OSU, Michigan, PSU, Southern Cal, and Oregon into my state. Let FSU get their 25 kids a year that they are going to get anyways but don’t invite new competition in.

For 572 million? FSU isn't going anywhere unless and until they get a court ruling allowing them to leave without paying the ACC what they agreed to pay them if they leave the conference early.

572 million. They aren't going anywhere for awhile.

The Big Ten is not gonna get any real recruiting benefit from adding FSU. FSU is FSU, Ohio State,Penn State and Michigan recruit the state anyway.

bro floridas uaa left by the loathsome Jeremy foley and chop Howard doesn’t care about being a competitive football team they’d rather be “the Stanford of the south” in their minds and suck at football because they think those 2 things correlated. . If anything they’d welcome fsu in the conference with open arms to knock down UF football down another peg or 2 from what they already have done hiring billy Napier and other dud coaches over the years

FSU to BIG

The B1G better think long and hard about this. FSU would've won the B1G this season more than likely. Especially if they got Mich/OhioSt early in the season. FSU would own the B1G on the field. Maybe not in the headquarters, but they'd be very successful in that conference.

Some argue Mizzou has a he easiest SEC conference schedule in 2024. We play @ Bama, Auburn, Oklahoma & @ A&M and you are over here complaining that we aren’t picketing to add FSU?

It’s great if we add them, but my point is we aren’t the conference whose way behind.
