The ACC moved into Florida and it didn’t help them much.

It's a Rutgers move.

Markets don't matter anymore like they did 10 years ago during expansion. It's not "gonna get them into Florida."

Brands and TV ratings matter.
The SEC has 8-9 schools with bigger brands than FSU.
No one wants to dilute the payout.

The biggest hurdle FSU has to get into the B1G is academic.

The B1G has been pressuring Nebraska to step up their academic standing, which is considerably higher than FSU's.

Many B1G schools do have that as a big consideration. So while FSU may want to join, it'll be interesting to see if schools in the B1G will reciprocate that interest.

I agree and don't believe the B1G does either.

One of them may end up taking them but I don't think either conference is dying to add them.

The B1G getting both FSU and Miami would be huge for their conference.

some of y’all are so damn delusional

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and LSU all have bigger brands or have cases to make but the rest not so much

To add to that point, in the SEC (or about to be), only AL, GA, TX had better average ratings this year compared to FSU. No one else was within 700,000 viewers per game.

When FSU is good, and they have been for the most part for 40 years, they add more value per school and more viewers to the SEC. In the recent past, when they were bad, not so much. But that is generally true for even the biggest brands.

FSU had their chance with the SEC and crybaby Bowden opted not to, we don't need them.

You’re joking right? This past season only 4 SEC teams had higher ratings than FSU. Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee.

The data you're using assigned 0 viewers to games without data.

3-4 schools in the expanded SEC have a bigger brand. Take a guess. FSU is on par with UF, LSU, Auburn at minimum.

1 year is not enough empirical data. Especially since it was their best year in a decade.

Their average is a better gauge.

FSU would be 7th in the new SEC Last year

They would be 12th in 2021

They would be 8th in 2020.
