Because the SEC already has a school in Florida

FSU is a sleazy revisionist school. We don't want them, we don't need them, and they would only bring disrepute to the SEC. They have been in more trouble with the NCAA and the law than any other school in the South. And, they were scared of the SEC and had their chance. Screw them.

Well said sir! best post in the thread IMO.

I want to add them solely for the purpose of visiting Doak Campbell. You can add Virginia Tech in there for the same line of thinking.

Please take them. Thanks to Boxcar Willie Taggart, he has them playing below the competitive level of the U of SC. The longer they keep him the more useless they will become. Granted they are a "brand name" that will generate a few bucks, but they would be another whipping post for better SEC schools.

They won't be nearly as bad as they were last year.

For one, their schedule is easier. They get Boise State in Jacksonville instead of playing @ Notre Dame.
Offense will be better too since they brought Kendall Briles in and Blackmon isn't a headcase diva like Frenchy.
That OL is still a mess though but I'd expect something like 7-5 or even 8-4.

While we’re at it, why not add Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, Penn State, etc. That way we can make sure that no SEC team makes it to the playoffs.

While I don't share your optimism, for the health of the ACC they need to rebound quickly. Willie Taggart was a bad hire and if he has another marginal season he will be gone.

Why?

It's a POS metal stadium with a nice facade put there with stolen taxpayer money.

please tell me why UF owns (viewership wise) the majority of the schools in Florida ? the same is always said about uofsc and the television sets in SC. SC is definitely 50/50 at best, probably tilted in CU's favor since our current run. Fla. is maybe 30% UF, considering FSU and Miami.

been there several times, not impressed. Would be a lower tier SEC stadium as would be most of their facilities.

Why? I thought Bowden pretty much confirmed it a few years ago.

That said, I don't think the SEC would want FSU today. Simply because of how the markets work and already having a Florida school.

I've also heard there was a pact between some schools, like Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia etc to vote against any expansions in their own states. So if FSU came up, all those schools would vote against it. Such a thing is impossible to verify, so who knows.

It's kinda what happened but the ACC ended up being the best choice for them at the time.

We have the bigger fan base, alumni, current enrollment, and our football program is still considered worth more than Clemson's and it's not even close. (second citation)This doesn't take into account how many Clemson fans have their eyes glued to X amount of Gamecock games per year.

SC isn't that big of a market with the two school combined and the SEC already has the school that's larger and worth more. Let's say we add Clemson randomly, Clemson won't bring in enough eyeballs or enough money to justify the other schools splitting the money with them.

It's a net loss Tiger turd. No one is clamoring to get 100% market share of Greenville.
