please tell me why UF owns (viewership wise) the majority of the schools in Florida ? the same is always said about uofsc and the television sets in SC. SC is definitely 50/50 at best, probably tilted in CU's favor since our current run. Fla. is maybe 30% UF, considering FSU and Miami.

That's not how it works. You're selling the demographic(s) and can only sell them once. They bring little to no $$ to the table.

Plus, and I'll throw in with our Gator cousins here, we don't want them. Imagine if Troy or Ga Southern ever built a monster program and rivaled UGA, Bama and AU. Even knocking us out of MNC's. Their fans are awful and insufferable. We've never seen this level of little brother syndrome. Unbearable

It always amazes me when this subject comes up how some folks will imply that FSU didn't join the SEC because UF blocked them. WTF? UF voted to have them in and FSU decided to back out in the 11th hour. They said they joined the ACC because of the academics but I heard it was really them trying to cross over from football into basketball and other sports as well. They felt football was too much of an emphasis.

UF plays them in every sport, every year so it definitely wasn't that we were scared.
