Yep, I am sure. Gene Corrigan from the ACC pulled a back door deal and got FSU an offer. Kramer was wheeling and dealing with 4 schools and Corrigan pulled a fast one.

Sounds to me that FSU drug their feet around and the SEC got tired of them.

Put the rest of the article in your post. Kramer got pissed and worried over Corrigan.

Having FSU for the health of the SEC going forward is wise and beneficial.

Screw what Florida "wants". I want a lot of things in life.

FSU is a natural fit and would immediately add to the SEC as a whole, year after year.

I don't think Fla wants FSU in anymore. I disagree with that line of thinking. I have always wanted FSU to play in the SEC.

it's in there now. So would the FSU fans rather the ACC or SEC?

You play FSU every year any way so I can't imagine that played in to it. Not like they ran from the conference like Tech.

SEC, always been the majority of fans choice. We are dealing with Tobacco Road and Swafford now. Shortfall of 20 to 15 million a year being in the ACC vice the SEC.

They did what was best for them at the time.

Get over it.

You could not ask for a better University.

They are a perfect fit.

Yep. Bowden kind of screwed it up and I understood his line of thinking. FSU and Miami had been super successful without playing in the SEC, why make your schedule harder? I wouldn't want to if I was the head coach.

That's an interesting article.

What most people do these days is view the 1992 expansion through the current landscape.

Divisions didn't exist, so there was no clear-cut "need for a team from the east" necessarily, and they would have added up to four teams, rather than two.

It sounds like the four primary targets were Texas, A&M, Arkansas and FSU.

What hasn't been mentioned here and is the driving factor in bringing in a team to the SEC is the overall TV footprint for SEC broadcast. It was the main reason for the St. Louis and Texas market hence the addition of Mizzzu and aTm. FSU would have a negligible impact on viewership in the state so no reason to have them join.

FSU is a sleazy revisionist school. We don't want them, we don't need them, and they would only bring disrepute to the SEC. They have been in more trouble with the NCAA and the law than any other school in the South. And, they were scared of the SEC and had their chance. Screw them.
