That would be false.

There was a 4-team invitation, (at least), including Texas, Arkansas and A&M, and probably FSU. Miami wasn't seriously considered.

The next level of conference realignment will be the merger of entire conferences. The ACC and SEC are natural compliments of each other. However, the combination of Big10 and the ACC would be a cataclysmal shift in the balance of conference power.

Times change.

Make them an offer. They would immediately fit in.

While Corrigan lobbied the three abstainers to agree to a second vote later that evening, Kramer quickly arranged a own conference call of SEC members to vote against inviting Florida State.
