With Ray Tanner at the helm? No.

With a competent AD, absolutely.

Our super AD decided to frick us with huge buyouts for Muschamp and Martin. I agree both need to go but Tanner has to go first because I don't want him anywhere near a coaching search.

I’ve been screaming this for years. He bailed on Huggins’ talent when it ran dry.

He deserves credit for his final 4, but John Brady made a final 4. Stan Heath made an elite 8 flukes just happen.

With that said I’d be all for 10 more years of Gcocboi arrogantly roasting LSU and will wade while his program is consistently mediocre

We coulda woulda shoulda had Gregg Marshall, but he apparently didn’t get along well with the old AD and we went with Darrin Horn instead.

I doubt you had a chance with Marshall, he is just a flirt.

Besides the fluke Final 4

I wouldn't call that a fluke.

They beat the 2, 3, and 4 seed during that tourney.

Steve Forbes
Chris Jans
Scott Nagy

All three are on my if "Nate Oats dies, leaves, etc." list. Plus, there's John Belein.

Charles Koch will write a check to keep Marshall if he's worth keeping.

And still didn't get him. Not saying that in a bad way towards Scar, his history shows he enjoys the attention, but never commits to moving on from where he is.

Had South Carolina ever been to the Final Four before Martin got there?

Seems to me is what has happened is he has raised y'all's expectations and now you guys are turning on him. Happens a lot and is maybe a good sign for y'all's program. But advocating for change isn't without risk. There's a good chance that if y'all get rid of him you'll fall back to pre-Martin standards.

Does South carolina have any program where their fans expectations are actually realistic and in line with their historic success in that given sport. Never seen a fanbase with such an overinflated sense of expectations in everything. Its reality Carolina. Frank Martin is doing fine for yall. Same for Muschamp.

It happens all the time. It happened to Arkansas recently with Mike Anderson. Although we do have considerable historical success in basketball, there is no doubt our program tanked after Nolan left. Anderson brought us back out of the cellar and had us in the conversation again. But didn't get over the hump and we canned him.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with Musselman and the decision to fire Anderson was a good decision. But that isn't necessarily how it always plays out. There was a real risk that after firing Anderson we hired someone who wasn't up to the task either.

And that's all I'm saying. The elevated expectations can be a good thing, but they can also bite you in the arse.

1 tournament appearance in 8 seasons isn’t fine. I don’t care how bad you are. Why would we not want better?

Expecting to make the tournament more than once a decade is delusional?

That's like us saying UK is delusional for wanting a coach who can beat UF in football more than once every 40 years.
