and that, for the billionth time, means shite when you are already putting everything together for an offer to be made. once again, the fact that you are trying to pass the whole situation falling apart because of mother fricking baylor and not the LHN may be the single most delusional thing i have ever seen in my entire life

That's the game where countless gentleman yelled "sheep fricker" at my mom, from the time she left her car until she arrived at the stadium.

CGSC,

quote:

Actually, the A&M athletic department, circa 2006 owed $16 million, which was all paid off by 2010.

Lets not let facts get in the way of a good diarrhea spray

Link that because we both know President Murano got canned because she asked for that money back from $Bill. Your boy McKinney then gave the worst, most unprofessional performance review in history and once again, Aggy is the joke of the conference.

You fired Fran in 2007, she asks for the money back in 2009 and then resigns that summer. But Aggy magically has it all paid back a year later after 3 years of no payment and your Big Money Alums in the same economic pain as everybody else?

Riiiiiggghhht!

I think we've found the alter of a certain nutjob who still thinks we are criminals because we "illegally trademarked" 12th Man.

However, it's funny how you gloss over the fact that Byrne turned down a scenario where we paid half the operating cost for 30% or less of the profit.

Any credible link to this claim?

quote:

No manager in their right mind would accept that deal without a significant incentive.

quote:

Those words will be quickly filed under the heading "sour grapes" in Austin, where the popular narrative involving A&M and the LHN is that the Aggies turned down the opportunity to be a part of the network themselves.

But Byrne hotly disputed that account, saying that before the Aggies had done the homework on whether they could make the financial commitment, the Longhorns had elected to move on without them.

"Once we did [the study], we said we'd be interested but they said it was too late," he said. "There's a rumor that I turned down $300 million. If anybody knows me, I wouldn't turn down $300 million."

LINK

Translation: We fricked up. We didn't think it would be financially viable, so we said no.

Then, when Texas was offered $300 million, we decided, "yeah, we want some of that." Too bad, so sad, said Texas.

Kind of like when aggie scoffed at the worthless land in West Texas (the Permanent University Lands), then when oil was struck on land owned by The University of Texas, they then whined about wanting one-third of it.

Typical aggies, never changing...

I remember having whiskey bottles thrown at me from the 3rd story of a parking garage while I was in uniform on the way to the 1996 game in Austin.

This link says the first payments started in 2009, and with significant cutbacks within the A&M athletics department, you were on pace to pay it off in the originally agreed timeframe: 10 years.

So 2019?

LINK

quote:

We’ve been cutting back on our expenses and generating new revenue,” Byrne said. “So we’re able to start paying the loan back. We’re right on track to do that.” Robert Gates, then A&M president and now the nation’s Secretary of Defense, came to Byrne in 2005 with the idea of a loan to be spread evenly over four years and paid back over 10, Byrne said. The situation came to light last week when A&M president Elsa Murano mentioned the loan as part of her annual review. The loan, which covers the fiscal years 2006-09, had not been reported by media but had been approved by A&M’s board of regents.

Now you're just makin' up stuff.
And it's silly.

Texas A&M University is gone, ladies.
This isn't an issue about which you need to fret any longer.
I hope the BXII works out for you like a bad case of syphillis.

That's a much more believable lie. It would be better if you had video ala this Aggy genius flinging poop.

LINK

But again, since the '96 game was in Austin, you can make up a lie and it be somewhat believable.

I was with her.
No lies from this mouth.
I was making the point of how churlish you sounded.

Geez, I don't miss any bit of playing the horns.
The misery is coming back like a past life regression.

Which is the lie?

The fact that I was in uniform or the fact that we had whiskey bottles thrown at us while marching to the stadium?

So, in a stadium in which every Texas fan is outnumbered 6-7 to 1, some random Texas fans are going to pop off to an Aggy? Hey man, if you say so.

What I remembered most, though, was your group of cadets beating the crap out of Texas fans on Kyle Field after losing the game.

A&M has always been and will always be a rival. Anybody who says differently never went to either school.

Of course that's what you'd choose to remember.
Was that before or after the knife fight?

Think I might be waiting a while.
