If this is the case, I might argue Ed Reed should be the guy from Louisiana

Cam couldn't hold Herschel's jock strap
shite, he would just carry him across the goal line like he did Pat Peterson.

Cam Newton was also a better professional football player than Herschel Walker.

He also had more rushing TD

All went to in state HBCUs

You know, that's actually a good point.

If the criteria is college only, where you went (and the competition you played against) would certainly be a contributing factor.

Not to say that those weren't spectacular players, but I guess we're not considering the NFL at all here.

How you figure? They all made it to the NFL and had pretty good careers. Isn't that the point of college?

Jerry Rice - GOAT, HOF
Walter Payton - HOF
Steve McNair - Pro-Bowler

Georgia: Herschel Walker and that isn't even up for debate

Florida: DT or Tim Tebow

Texas: Earl Campbell

Oklahoma: Lee Roy Selmon

Deion Sanders is understandable, but it’s hard to believe he wasn’t at least among the others considered.

Then Cam is not the correct choice for Georgia.

Cam > Herschel

It’s not really controversial. Herschel is a great back but he is the 2nd best in history behind Bo Jackson.

Cam redefined the QB position and you cannot compare anyone to him.

I like the list.

Clearly it should be Senator Walker from Georgia.

As for Texas...I think Vince Young is one of the most overrated players in college football history.
