The SEC has pinned themselves into a corner.

LSU is going to be pissed any way this comes out.

Other conferences will be calling

This isn't going to be over no matter how the vote comes out. Stay or Geaux

Go on record? Make your stand. It's important we can find out who the benedict Arnolds are.

Per its bylaws, the SEC can expel whomever for whatever. It'd probably be a bad look at this point to expel a founding member with no evidence of wrongdoing. They can do it though.

I’m assuming that bylaw was written before college sports became a multi billion dollar business

Likely. Seems the LA AG is interested in that angle as well.

The SEC bylaws say “you can’t play and ineligible player” as well.

That got put to bed the moment Diego Pavia sued them and the NCAA for another year of eligibility based on limiting his earning potential.

Once money was involved, pretty much all of their rules became moot.

Well at least Wolken admits it is deeply hypocritical of the SEC to finally draw a hard line.

I'm saying it'd be a bad look for the conference.

Basically, for the reason you stated is why the SEC is subject to the Sherman Act. When you sign a $3B dollar media rights deal as a collective and are competing entities, you can bet your sweet little @$$ you’ll fall under the Sherman Act. Well, short of Congress giving you antitrust exemptions or bargaining with the players.

They don’t want to bargain with the players because they’ll give up a lot more than 20% of revenue.

He’s about as wrong as it gets. Wherever he’s getting his legal knowledge from, he needs to stop. He’s looked like a clown for the better part of 2 weeks now.

House v. NCAA: the SEC and the other Power 4 conference’s were specifically named in the suit. We all know they lost, which specifically says the NCAA and the conferences are subject to antitrust laws.

He’s the one saying the SEC’s First Amendment right of association would/should allow colleges to ban Black players if they wanted.

So you want to go on the record of voting for LSU in or out?

Why?

Why do you care what my opinion on putting LSU out is?

I don't think they are going to be kicked, but I can see some suspensions and financial penalties first.

It totally depends on what the facts are and I don't believe for a second we know them yet. Kiffin does seem to have a talent for constantly pissing off his superior to the point of being fired over and over again though.

Please, please read the House v. NCAA decision. Maybe then you won’t look so much like a clown.

Yeah, for absolutely nothing. Clearly nothing egregious happened here to make this a first in nearly 100 year history of the SEC
