The coming Fascist Christian Technocracy will make sure football survives, even if it becomes a robots-only competition.

Nerds will inherit the earth.

Auburn's dying. We are dead, at the moment.

It'll be flag football by then.

I've been saying that for about 5 years now. In my lifetime I fully expect to see either flags or two-hand touch for at least QBs. Maybe it will be sooner if Tom Brady does indeed try to play until he's 50. As soon as he's diagnosed with osteoarthritis, Goodell's hands will be tied to implement Brady Rule 3.0 in a desperate attempt to extend his career and the career of all geriatric QBs.

False

Yeah, no sport has declined more in popularity than horse racing over the past 40 years. It used to be one of the top 3 American sports. Now it's pretty much dead. But everybody still knows who Secretariat is. The great ones will never be forgotten no matter how much interest in a sport goes down.

The article is basing it's claims off the middle class abandoning the game. I don't think the middle class will abandon watching it but letting their children play. Still a bunch of poor people to muddle their brains. They're modern day gladiators. Physically harm themselves for entertainment. Only difference is they're paid a crap ton of money now instead of being slaves.

I absolutely agree. Since I have a English born grandson who lives in Bristol UK I have come to my senses and call it football and American football.

Mostly because it pisses off the fans of American football.

The NFL has jumped the shark and who wants their kids playing football. The concussion issue isn't going away anytime soon. #boycottNFL ... I have not watched a game in 3 years.

With the youth football participation rates dropping as they are in some areas of the country the OP may well be correct.
I don't get the appeal of soccer, they kick the ball around for a couple of hours and if more than one goal is scored it's considered a high scoring shootout.
Boring as hell

There are guys in the NFL who picked up Football like their JR year of high school.

Youth football doesn’t matter.

Kids will still want to plays in High school.

Don't lie. The mere thought of it will stoke the unquenchable angst in your heart, just as it's doing right now.

The cost to insure players at the youth and high
school levels will kill the feeder system to college and the NFL. Without taxpayer support at the lower
levels the game becomes less popular. Basketball,
baseball, soccer , and other sports can survive without taxpayer support. Football can’t.
