In 20 years, Alabama will be the only SEC team with a men's synchronized swimming national champions.

I absolutely agree. Since I have a English born grandson who lives in Bristol UK I have come to my senses and call it football and American football. Mostly because it pisses off the fans of American football. The NFL has jumped the shark and who wants their kids playing football. The concussion issue isn't going away anytime soon. #boycottNFL ... I have not watched a game in 3 years

Why don’t you just go smear this on a bathroom wall where it belongs

So Football will disappear and Faggies will never see their mediocre program win anything of note. This is true even if Football keeps going also of course,

All white teams of 1760 don’t count. That’s a different sport so don’t even try.

Yes, but it doesn’t need taxpayer support on
the youth and high school level to survive.

I'm not betting on the future of football based on an opinion piece in the damn Chicago Tribune.

I disagree. The sport will evolve into a microcosm of what it is today. I also believe there will be a team in London, and eventually other European countries.

It will be like Metallica, football will sell out and turn into the biggest pansy fest of a sport you will ever see but there will be fans running around acting like football is the most violent sport around. Meanwhile Rugby is still kicking arse.

This was always inevitable. As we grow smarter, we realize soccer is the greatest game in the world and will all be playing soon.

I’ve seen some bad stuff, as a player and fan. Had two for sure concussions (once hospitalized), probably several more. Saw other players have worse. Saw one teammate knocked out cold and landed on his back. He started throwing up and choking. Nobody, including the coaches, knew what to to. One grabbed his belt and started pulling up like they used to do when we got our breath knocked out. There was no such thing as trainer. Luckily one dad was an EMT and ran out and rolled the kid over so he didn’t choke on his vomit. If the kid had a broken neck, he’d probably be paralyzed or worse.

I’ve seen broken necks, broken limbs (3 for me), teeth, severe concussions where a player had to stay in the hospital for 3 days and a dark room for 3 weeks. Permanently pinched neck and back nerves. Permanently damaged knees and ankles. I have a deformed finger(even after surgery) and a bad neck and ankle. Can’t rememer shite, probably due to the concussions.

Football’s a brutal sport. I didn’t let my sons play. Thankfully they excelled in other sports and didn’t want to.

Athletes are bigger, faster, and hit harder than ever. I think football will lose its fan base in 5-10 years. The NFL sooner. I don’t watch it anymore. Even college has lost some luster with all the TV, Nike, showboating & replay stuff.

The game is losing the middle class. And no sport survives that. Better learn to like soccer and lacrosse. That’s where we’re headed.

Football will be around for a long time. It however is going to lose a lot of its popularity. All you have to do is look at today's student sections.

If a kid doesn't like going to a game when they are in college what are the chances he will discover it after he leaves?
