MTSU is usually an above .500 C-USA team.

You should bring up UMass who got kicked out the MAC

Auburn plays Washington to open the season. We also play Southern Miss. UGA plays Austin Peay, MTSU, Umass, and Tech. That's pretty weak follow up year for the SEC Champs.

Hell, Oklahoma plays UCLA, Clemson plays ATM, and Bama plays Louisville.

So is Auburn.

Alabama State and Liberty.

Well, we open with a top 10 playoff contender in Washington.

We play in the SEC west.

We play the top 2 teams in the SEC on the road right before the SECCG (if we make it).

We pretty much play the toughest schedule in the nation yearly.

Fresno State won 10 games and beat Houston in a bowl.

I won't crap on Florida's schedule but Fresno and Idaho are not the same.

Ain't going to happen. Those schools depend on us but I have heard that some of the P5 schools want to come together and kick the NCAA to the curb. It will not happen cause all the P5 schools will have to be on board.

I will crap all over the 2018 UF schedule. It is weak as frick. The weakest UF schedule that I can remember.

BTW Got one to talk up Fresno State. Lets see how many more take the bait

We need to have a P5 only division.

Just get rid of the FCS games imo. I'm fine with playing G5 teams. In fact lots of them are better than P5 teams.

If the goal is to only play good opponents, you'd have to set the bar a lot higher than just the P5.

I find the whole 1AA vs bad 1A debate stupid in general. The idea that playing Mercer or Charleston Southern is a capital offense but playing Eastern Michigan is fine is pretty stupid.

I mean, you said Fresno State was the same as Idaho. Saying that's untrue isn't comparing Fresno State to Michigan or UCLA.

That's all well in good, but in the past few years we have played:
Clemson (2)
Notre Dame
Colorado
Oklahoma State
And we play Georgia Tech every year.
So, it's not like we don't play a challenging schedule. According to Sagarin SOS, we played the #6 toughest schedule in the country last season.

The only reason I mentioned it was because an Auburn fan (Rhino5) ridiculed our schedule.

IMO you should only play FCS and G5 teams from your state. Why is the flagship University of the state of Florida giving a payout to Charleston Southern and Idaho when that money could go to a instate school.

You know, as long as Power 5 schools like Illinois and Kansas exist, I'm getting a little tired of people outside our league bitching at us for our scheduling. Playing 1 and only 1 FCS school a year helps those schools athletic programs survive, and allows us to rest and heal our starters and play younger kids. And they don't demand a return home engagement. Teams like Illinois, Oregon State, Kansas, Syracuse aren't any more impressive on your resume', expect you to travel to their shithole stadium, and want a bigger paycheck that they promptly flush down the toilet by spending it to do something other than improve their football program.

Football pays the bills. That's a fact. So why do these programs choose to remain irrelevant, and totally noncompetitive year after year, decade after decade? You don't have to compete for the natty every year. But getting and staying a couple of games north of .500 for more than a year or two isn't too much to ask is it? And we have a couple of SEC members just as guilty of it as anyone without naming names. The longer you wait, the further behind the curve you fall and the harder it is. Until they man up and clean up their own houses, the rest of college football can STFU about the way we schedule in the South. Looks to me like it's worked pretty well for the past 20 years or so. If it ain't broke...You can call it embarrassing all day long and we'll keep collecting the hardware and the paychecks in the ACC and SEC. Who's the dumb arse now, B1G, PAC XII, Big XII?
