As an LSU fan, SS is my favorite of the two. No question.

I'm no Gator, but I don't see how Spurrier isn't the answer to this question. He and Tebow are the most beloved men in the history of that school. Probably the most clear cut duo of any SEC school save Bama with Bear and Sabear. There really isn't any challenger to their status. Maybe Emmitt Smith? Maybe. But probably not.

Hell no. Emmitt is way down the list.

Donovan is probably the guy who rounds out the top four: Spurrier, Tebow, Donovan, E Smith, Danny W
Next level- Sully, Todd, Noah, Ryan Lochte, Abby Wambach
Edit I forgot our first fricking Heisman winner and I thought I listed him..sorry. Add Danny up there and make it top 5.

We don't have to make this a Mt. Rushmore. I don't think there is any real comparison between Donovan and Smith's popularity on campus and among Florida fans to that of Spurrier and Tebow. They're very clearly head and shoulders above everyone else.

Well it depends. People over 30 would care cause they saw Smith with the Cowboys, and same for Donovan. Most Gator fans would instantly recognize them.

I thought I had Danny...damn...take my Gator card forever.

Danny did win the heisman or was it really just spurrier winning his second heisman

Well Spurrier was the coach for 12 years, and only one player won the Heisman during that stretch, although Grossman should have won it over Eric Crouch.

Spurrier built a dynasty and had a MUCH harder road to win a natty then what Urby did. Not taking away from what he did just saying. Like Miles coming in after Saban built the winning culture at LSU.

Depends. Spurrier had a much harder FSU to deal with but Meyer had a much harder SEC group. Which is basically why Spurrier had UF in the SEC title game 7 times in 12 years.(all his SEC title games where with teams that start with A which is a funny random fact; Alabama, Auburn, Arky) and won the last SEC title before the conference title game was taken in by the SEC.

It’s nothing like what Les miles did. Les took over for the best program builder the college football world has seen. Urban took over for zook.

Spurrier was carrying water for Florida even as he coached at SC, by leaving D-Mac completely off his Heisman ballot for Teblow.

Zook handed a Saban coached LSU it's only loss in 2003
