That's debatable about the SEC toughness. In general, the football opponents were tougher back then. Florida had to play FSU twice in '96 if I'm not mistaken and ran into a buzzsaw in Nebraska one year.

Agreed. I think every Gator fan above 12 would call Spurrier their fav Gator. He maybe the most loved man in Gainesville.
